Borrowing technology from modern running shoes, Elan integrated a U-Flex channel throughout the ski, allowing the ski to flex the same way the sole of a shoe does to make the ski 25% softer than a ski of the same length. This makes the ski more forgiving and a whole lot easier to turn.
