I donât normally wear insulated pants when skiing, but I was really impressed by the Eider Edge Pant. I have skied a few days in these already and they have worked out really well for me. These are listed a regular fit, but keep in mind that Eider is a european brand, so their regular cut is a bit more fitted than most brands based in the United States. Even though they are more of a trim fit I found that they did a great job articulating the joints so that these pants move with you very well. These are plenty warm and were perfect for temperatures in the 20-30 degree range. I wore them night skiing one night when temps were in the teens, I didnât need to add any additional layers underneath and they kept me toasty warm.
I really like the fabric they use. It has kind of a cross-hatch weave that is almost heathered and gives them a really sophisticated look; it almost makes me feel like I'm wearing a pair of dress pants. They look real sharp!
I would only change a couple things about these pants. I would make the pockets a little bit bigger and I would add thigh zips for venting. They were almost a little too warm for me when skiing in temps above freezing, so it would be really nice to have the ability to bleed some heat. That being said, I generally tend to run pretty warm, so your average person may not have the same issue.

Stylin on and off the hill
In the Village at Solitude Mountain Resort after a long day of making turns. Love the Eider Edge pant, and will continue to wear them, and let them make me look good on and off the hill.

The Edge pant really opened my eyes to a new world of snow pants. I never thought you could have a pant that wasn't baggy or shapeless. Eiders Edge pant really shows off my legs and also moves with me. I'm an expert Alpine skier and I didn't feel them restrict my range of motion. I am also a Telemark Skier and that requires a lot more movement, I was able to focus on skiing not on my clothing.
Along with that the pants have a lower back pad that was nice while riding up on the chair lift. It isn't something I thought I would notice or enjoy, but it was a pleasant addition for some of the old resort chairs.
Silicone lining in the gaiter secures your pant to your boot, and the dress pant hook closure in addition to the button closure gives you piece of mind that your pants will always stay closed.
I wear 32x32 pants and I ordered a Medium which fit me. I think I would size up in these for some added length and a little more room. I'm working out and my quads may get bigger haha.
