Teching your way up tenuous towers in torrential rains? Inching up inconsistent ice? Meandering up moist mixed multi-pitch routes? If you answered yes to any of the above, the Edelweiss Extreme II 9mm SuperEverDry Climbing Rope is the line you want. At 9mm, it's designed to be used as a half rope on wandering alpine routes, and it features Edelweiss's UIAA-certified SuperEverDry technology to prevent water absorption. To attain UIAA certification, a dry rope must absorb no more than 5% of its weight when exposed to "severe water flow." The Extreme II absorbs just 0.8%, meaning it will stay light and the handling will be unaffected even in the soggiest conditions. It is also constructed with Perform 3 technology, which decreases weight while simultaneously reducing impact force for a softer catch and increasing the UIAA fall rating to an almost incomparable 15. If that's not enough for you, the Extreme also boasts a Sharp Edge Resistant sheath, which is capable of withstanding a factor two fall on a sharp .75mm edge (please don't test this, though).
