    Lightweight for long approaches.

Approaches to alpine climbs are a lot easier when you have Edelrid's lightweight Apus Pro Dry Climbing Rope. Certified as a twin or half, the Apus presents outstanding handling with a slim 7.9mm diameter paired with Edelrid's Thermo Shield treatment. Pro Dry's coated sheath and core gives this rope excellent resistance to dirt and water, making it highly applicable for ice and mixed routes, too.

    solid half ropes

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have beat on these ropes for three seasons now. they are my primary ice climbing ropes and I have also used them for multipitch trad when I know that full length raps are in order. they have been all over Northern New England. I have been impressed with the thin and light diameter, the dry treatment, durability for their weight, and the overall handling of these ropes. Oh yeah, did I mention that the price point on these are so good. which makes the performance of these ropes that much better. I have had several partners look at the rope and then see the 7.9 marking and go

    Unanswered Question

The claimed weight of 62g/m for a 7.9mm rope seems high. Is this correct?
