With the recent merger of Easton and Race Face, the former was able to bring the latter's future-proof Cinch crankset technology from mountain bikes to road, cyclocross, and gravel. We built the direct-mount, one-by Easton EC90 SL Crankset primarily for 'cross and gravel, but the crank arms' modularity means it can adapt to the spider-life of a double as needed.
That modularity is the key to the crankset's future-proof status. Rather than being adrift in an ever-expanding sea of proprietary standards and slightly tweaked dimensions, the self-sponsored cyclist can invest once in the Cinch-equipped EC90 SL crank system with confidence that, regardless of what the future holds, the chassis will be compatible.
The crank arms themselves are Easton's EC90 SL carbon fiber, a material that's already been proven from cockpit components to the soles of some of cycling's most popular race shoes. The included rings say "Easton," but they feature a narrow/wide tooth profile similar to the one-by standouts from Race Face, so the chainring clears debris caked-on from peanut-butter mud pits and maintains chain retention across washboard and over-sized gravel.

Super Light and Plenty Stiff!
At 458g for the arms and ring (578 with PF30bb), I am not sure if you are going to find a lighter crank option that offers the stiffness and durability you get from the Easton Crank. Bottom Brackets seem to be available for most frames to run these too.
I didn't really feel like I was going out on a limb by giving these a try. Raceface has been using the same tech in the Mountain Bike world for a few years now, with massive success. I can swap out chainring sizes in a matter of about 10 or less due to the ease of use of the CINCH system, so adjusting my gearing for varying courses or rides is really not a big deal. The perfect solution for any Gravel or Cross riders building up a bike, or looking to shed some weight from their current ride.
I have mine mounted up on my Cielo Base Racer with Force1 components and a 10-42 Cassette. I almost did my build with an Ultegra Di2 / XTR Di2 combo which would have been super cool, but with my already not the lightest steel frame, I opted for the lighter build option.
