Not for bikepacking.

I really wanted to like this hammock, but it's not for me. I don't sleep well in hammocks regardless, but I took this on a 1100mi bike-packing trip instead of a bivy and lived to regret it. It's lightweight and packs super easily, though I had to find a creative solution for the poles as they're pretty large. This hammock brought me some of the worst camping sleep of my life. I threw a Big Agnes pad in with the hammock for comfort and warmth, but that may have been a mistake. The poles make the hammock extremely unstable, so every night sleeping in this thing I felt like I was getting an ab workout just trying to get some z's. I flipped the hammock once, but the bug net caught me. By the end of the trip, I was dejected enough to just set the hammock up so it rested on the ground. The material is strong and the bug-net doesn't rip easily, so it seems a good enough solution as long as the ground is dry. I wouldn't recommend this for overnight use. The poles are too large, the hammock is way too unstable with a pad, and getting decent sleep in it is nearly impossible. The solution I found for slightly better sleep was to only use 1 pole for where I would put my head, this raised the area my head rested in and kept the hammock slightly more stable.

Nice tight no-see-um screening. Wide base in hammock. The stretcher bars are just too heavy.

The inner workings, set up and Comfort is very good, but there isn't a rain fly recommended for it... Which one is appropriate for this Hammock?
