Better in theory than in practice

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Height:
5' 10"

When the bag is full, it doesn't balance well and tips forward when standing still. I'm 5'10" and have to stoop to reach the handle, making it really uncomfortable to pull. Only plus is that it comes in a little bag and packs down really small.

Not quite what I expected

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I bought this for international travel, hoping it'd be a nice option to wheel through the airport and quickly transition to a backpack for cobblestone streets, stairs, etc. Other reviewers have noted the wheel function doesn't work unless the duffel is full, otherwise it's too floppy to roll, and that's true. But my main issue was the backpack feature. The straps are on the side of the pack that is water resistant, which, uh, seems pretty miserable when you have to haul it up stairs or in humidity. Seems like it would be a better idea to put the backpack straps on the other side, so your back doesn't become a pool of sweat? It's also not as easy to deploy into a backpack as I would like, but I do appreciate you can stow the straps so they don't get ripped off when the bag is checked at the airport. I opted to go for the Osprey Fairview wheeled pack instead, which has a frame and overall better design. It's quite a bit more spendy, but I think it'll last longer and better suit my needs.

Great for camping

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought this to use for camping equipment on bike tours. Lightweight, so I can pack it full without exceeding weight limits. It hasn't had to sit out in a downpour yet, but seems waterproof. The wheels work smoothly on rough terrain. Exactly what I was looking for.

Great Idea... BUT Holes after 2 uses

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I spent a lot of time looking for the right lightweight duffel that I could both wheel and wear as a backpack for versatility. However I am super DISAPPOINTED! After one road trip and one airline trip, the bottom of the back already has holes on the bottom. For reference, I travel A TON! Weekly in fact, and typically use soft sided bags from Lipault, Tough Traveler, Dakine and Burton. NONE of these bags have shown remotely this level of compromise after a decade of use. I tried to pursue a warranty claim, and Backcountry told me neither Eagle Creek nor Backcountry could do anything and to follow up with the airline. However, the rest of the back is just fine, and this will likely continue to breakdown on the area on the bottom of the back with this thin fabric. I am very disappointed that in 3-months, I cannot return or get credit to purchase something different to replace. I would not recommend this bag.
