Still like a boot, comfortable like a running shoe, sticky like an approach shoe. Love this shoe. But, I am not sure what it is. After wearing on trails 3 days here in the scrappy White Mountains of New Hampshire I'll share some observations. Great on steep rocky and little icy conditions in November. Great technical shoe. I'm a climber and I would wear these as an approach shoe. I'd be curious about performance in a snowfield but good in mud, little ice. Stiff on very steep and technical trails. I am a runner with a neutral gait and high arches. While these shoes feel like a running shoe they do not have the cushion I wanted while running on jeep trails. Very light. I do love the brand and this product is consistent with the euro go fast and light ethos. They do run weirdly narrow. Combined with the stiff sole, this is good when edging on rock or trying to fit your foot in a small space.

I loved these shoes from the moment I first put them on. I have narrow feet and sometimes struggle to find shoes that fit. I especially love how the quick lace system goes farther down the foot so I can get things as tight as I want around the toe box. The shoes are a little stiff and heavy, which might not make them ideal as pure trail runners but are absolutely perfect for days when you'll be doing some scrambling/light mountaineering along with your run. Unfortunately for me, after only 150 miles, the loops on the shoes that the quick laces go through started breaking. It happened on both shoes within the same week. One of them broke on me when I was twenty miles away from the car and almost left me in a pretty bad situation. I was able to get them to work, but I can never trust them on a long adventure again. Too bad, because I really did love them.

These shoes run amazingly narrow. After just a few hours in the hills I could not wait to get them off. But, I aint no quitter seeking instant gratification..... So I stayed with these and they began to cave and stretch out. Now, after a little sit-down talk we agreed that for this relationship to work we both get on the same page and find common ground. I get along better with these shoes than the majority of my family.
