    The other Lite.

Unlike every other bike product in the world, the ‘Lite’ in Dumonde Lite Bicycle chain lube doesn’t refer to its weight. Well, not in the usual sense. It refers to viscosity. The reason that this is so important is that you want a clean drivetrain.

Heavy (thick) chain lubes leave a wet, sticky residue on your chain. That attracts dirt, which is cycled through your drivetrain. Dumonde Lite quickly works its way into your chains pivots and forms a low-friction plastic plating which bonds to the chain. It’s designed to leave your chain feeling dry, so dirt falls off before it gums up your drivetrain. Which is nice, because dirt is one of the reasons that drivetrains die.

    All year round lube

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought some of this at my local bike shop last year and used it all through the summer and winter in the Northwest. Protects the chain well when it is wet out and lasts a long time in the summer riding. The LBS told me not to add too much and wait until you just start to hear your chain run a little rough and then put a little on.

    Favorite Lube for Summer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've tried Rock N' Roll, White Lightning, Boeshield, and others, but I keep coming back to Dumonde Tech Lite. You do have to keep your drivetrain pretty clean in order to get the best performance out of it, but for Utah's moon dust, nothing in my experience keeps things running quieter. It also smells pretty great, if, like me, you like somewhat strange smells...

    The good stuff

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My favorite personal lubricant. Just kidding but personally, it's my favorite bike lubricant. Apply, wipe off and then reapply every few rides at most. Lasts a long time and keeps my drivetrain quiet and dirt free.

    Good stuff

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Good stuff. A fairly light coating every couple of rides does the trick. It doesn't attract much dirt/grime to your drivetrain as long as you don't overdo it, and wipe the excess off after every application. I like this better than wax lubes.

I live in dry environment where I ride gravel (farm roads that are sand or cement depending upon when graded, use and weather). Dirt would cake on my drivetrain with wax lubes. Mechanic recommended that I try Dumonde Lite on my gravel bike. I am happy, I need to clean my bike after every ride anyway and this is a cleaner solution. I have been using on my road bike as well. No complaints.

    Summer lube!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great chain lube for the dry Summer months when riding in dry dusty conditions! This lube does not attract dirt /dust to the drive system which can cause early wear to the drive chain. I do a lot riding in the Summer and this is my go to lube for his reason!

    As good as everyone says

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

By far the best lube I've used - 120 miles in and still not a sound from my drivetrain. As other reviews have said, seems to work best if you apply it early and wipe off the excess, then let it "cure" overnight before riding. One bottle is going to last me ages and the other lubes I've been using get left for backups and loaners.

    Go to lube

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Teflon, PTFE, Micro-lubrication. Bah humbug. This stuff just works great as a chain lube without a bunch of gimmicky stuff. Plus it smells great. You should buy it.

Agree with what everyone else says!

I didn't think I needed to chime in as everyone has raved about this stuff in these reviews, and I agree. After nearly 2 years of using it, I find it superior to everything else that I've tried. Just another tip: let it 'soak in ' preferably overnight, before wiping off, it will get into the pins and rollers and actually sort of 'dry' on the surface. I use it as a kind of 'cleaner' right after riding, wiping just a dab onto the moving chain, and then after a few hours or the next day, wipe it off with a dry cloth. Always a clean (smiling) chain, and never a squeak. I seem to get more mileage out of my chains and cassettes, but I rotate a lot of bikes so that's not necessarily proven yet. The blue (thicker) version is for when I think it might get wet, but mostly I use the yellow one.

      Less is more

Dumonde Tech is my go to lube of choice. Follow the instructions for awesome shifting performance, and an overall happy drivetrain. Works awesome, highly recommend you check it out.

      Great Stuff

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I ride in a desert climate, so it is dry and dusty most of the year. This stuff is the best I've found for my riding conditions. A simple wipe of the chain with a rag when coming back from a ride is enough to keep my chain clean for several rides between cleanings. This stuff doesn't attract too much gunk (the blue version attracts a little too much gunk, which is why I use the yellow) and it smells good, too. A clean chain means a prettier bike, a more efficient drive train (more power), longer lasting components and less likelihood of chain marks on the leg! What are you waiting for?

      The right amount of lube

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the only lube I have been using on my Santa Cruz 5010 and Surly Long Haul Trucker. The lite is perfect for the drier conditions I am normally riding in.

      Silky smooth

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Well of course that what lube does.... but dumonde lite does not build up on your drivetrain which just attracts dust, dirt, etc. Put it on sparingly, small drop per link, wipe down and don't repeat until you start to hear your chain talk to you. It's the best hands down.

      Desert Riding Lube!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my now go to lube. Smells great and does the trick. I found that these steps are best to use on this lube to get optimal performance out of it.
      1. Clean your chain with a rag and/or brush first.
      2. Apply the lube to each link but definitely DO NOT over do it.
      3. Wipe off excessive lube.
      4. Enjoy the smell!

What is the difference between the regular...

What is the difference between the regular and the Lite?

Technically there is a difference between the Lite and Original Dumonde lubes, they differ only in their concentration. “Lite is less concentrated for easier application and optimum performance.” The light is for road biking and the regular for mountain biking and touring. I noticed a slight difference in the drag in the drive train between the two so if you are road racing use the "lite" project.
