    Makes sense

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 162lbs

I've had a pair for a few years now and they are still going strong. Sometimes during the winter I wear them for a week or more everyday when I have a lot of stuff to do outside. I've worn them hunting, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing; to the office, to parties, and everything in between.
The weight is good for all those activities, active outdoors down to single digits with appropriate outerwear, and indoors during the cold season when you want to feel cozy.
The lower leg needs little insulation, and you probably will be wearing a boot, boot sock, gaiters, etc. so getting rid of the underwear layer there makes sense and works well.
