No magic, just ethereal fun.
As immune to a siren's call as you may be, there's no denying the tantalizing allure of fresh snow—something that the bewitchingly fun DPS Skis Women's Zelda F106 Foundation Ski comprehends very well. Designed for female rippers who like to indulge themselves in a little bit of everything, the Zelda boasts a women-specific mounting point, which not only makes for a more savory and powerful skiing experience, but also means you don't get thrown uncomfortably into the back seat. Though, much like its male counterpart, the Zelda adapts to a plethora of terrain, so you're able to cruise through the resort or tour up yonder into the backcountry.
Now, this information is all good and fun, but without a little proverbial moisture and colliding ice crystals, it's all just empty promises instead of coldsmoke. Starting with its 106mm width waist and partial twin tip construction, the Zelda crushes powder and crud alike, so you're not left hanging out to dry when you're unsure as to what the upcoming season brings (especially considering the last was all like "to snow or not to snow"). To further reinforce the Zelda's adaptability, the rocker-camber-rocker construction is complemented by a tapered, flatter sidecut (DPS' paddle tech design) that encourages smooth and effortless turn engagement—one that's quickly finished off by a smooth exit.
And while most skis with the aforementioned rocker type would leave you chattering over varied terrain like a wind-up toy that's had too much caffeine, the Zelda is fashioned with a damping, bi-phase bamboo and poplar core that ensures a responsive and powerful feel underfoot. Not to mention, the ski's textured topsheet, unidirectional carbon, and triaxial fiberglass laminates assure hard-wearing durability. However, if you're worried about your need for speed being catered to, fear not: the Zelda is finished off with a glossy (so to speak), sports-car-like World Cup Race bases.

Love the Zelda!
Amazing ski. Handles all terrain and conditions. Slight chatter at high speeds on the groomers, but it makes up for it in the powder. Very responsive ski.
Excellent all around backcountry ski
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
What a great touring ski for Utah's Wasatch Mountains, especially this year! I bought the 168 length as I wanted a shorter ski for the backcountry than the longer length I ski at the resorts. This is a great light and responsive ski in all types of conditions and the 106 underfoot gives me stability for whatever I encounter out in the wild. I'm definitely recommending these skis to my friends! Thanks DPS!
