    Best Value Workhorse. Period

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I climb trad., multi-pitch, and love my OWs and other lesser cracks.

Notably stronger than BD Neutrino (the BD comparable wire gate of similar size) (Why would you not climb on a biner with a 9kn open rating?); lighter than the Neutrino; a buck more and still cheap; better gate action than BDs with a more springiness than other wire gates; extra metal around the nose to keep the rock from pushing the gate open; a very small opening for the wire gate to sit in and the result is that these grab on gear so much less than others. I rack nuts on these and I mostly use them with my slings and anchors.

This biner is the best value and performance for money out there. If you want to go lighter and snag free with a recessed nose biner, you have to pay at least double the price for a few grams less; a smaller size; and only a bit less snagging. (I do rack my cams with the Chimera for weight savings and functionality.).

    Great Biner

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Awesome, lightweight carabiner. I use these for racking nuts, among other things. They also boast an additional 1 kN of open-gate strength vs. other comparative biners.
