Haanjenn Complete Bike - 2016

Not wanting to let the guys have all of the fun, Diamondback responded to the success of its go-anywhere Haanjo bikes by creating a sister line specifically made for women. The Haanjenn Complete Bike is the most budget-friendly model of the bunch, built with a solid aluminum frame and Shimano's ever-improving Sora drivetrain. As with the Haanjo, Diamondback strove to create a bike that would adapt to a variety of terrain, allowing riders to indulge their mid-ride impulses with as few limitations as possible.

To do this, Diamondback starts with treated 6061-T6 aluminum, ensuring the frame itself achieves a desirable blend of durability, stiffness, and low weight. It then shapes that frame with an endurance geometry — think longer wheelbase, higher stack height, and shorter reach. Endurance geometry has skyrocketed in popularity recently, and it's easy to see why; when paired with less aggressive, flat handlebars, the Haanjenn achieves a comfortable riding posture and intuitive handling with none of the twitchy jitteriness of a race frame.

As you explore rolling bike paths, Shimano's one-by, nine-speed Sora drivetrain will do what you ask of it without complaint, allowing you to enjoy your ride without mechanical worries. Like all Shimano groupsets, Sora has received trickle-down technology from its flashier siblings, and it's only becoming smoother and easier to operate with time. Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes offer reliable stopping power whether you're pedaling through wet mud or down steep grades on smooth roads, and the Haanjenn's alloy rims come wrapped in the aptly named Kenda Warthog tires — a burly option that won't shy away from slippery, loose gravel, mud, or chip seal city streets.
