Hike and bike.
You spend most of spring hiking up to your favorite mountain biking area just to see if the snow has melted. Once the trails are dry enough to ride, you'll be biking your days away until the next snowfall, and Deuter's Trans Alpine 30 Backpack will be with you every step—and pedal—of the way. Suitable for hiking and mountain biking, the Trans Alpine boasts multiple carry systems for hydration reservoirs, helmets, smartphones, and more. Its Airstripes suspension system has minimum contact to allow ample airflow, and the rain cover deploys whenever wet weather threatens your recently cleaned spokes.

Versatile overnight or long day hike bag
I used this on my trek up Kilimanjaro as my day pack. 30L is a nice size for long days (10-12 hrs) or overnight trips. There's a couple notable things I loved about this pack. First, there is a sleeping bag compartment that is separate from the main one. Usually this is a feature I see on larger packs so I was pleasantly surprised. For my long day hikes I used it for my camera gear so I wasn't digging through all my food and layers for it. Next, it has a large hydration sleeve. I used a 3L bladder with no issues. The frame is simple and soft, but rigid enough for support. On Kili you hike very slowly, so heat wasn't really an issue, but I didn't build up any sweat wearing it. Overall this is another great little pack to add to the repertoire. I usually buy Osprey, but Deuter didn't disappoint with this one at all.
