This is the 3rd Deuter cycling pack that I have owned. Many years ago I bought one of their early packs to commute to work. It lasted almost 15 years and was replaced with the first Race EXP Air pack Deuter made. That pack was a nice upgrade and it also lasted 15 years of daily use. This new pack is a further improvement in many ways: better H2O bladder with quick release tube, improved straps and comfort, the front organizer for wallet/phone/etc. is exactly what the original was missing. When not riding, this pack is with me throughout the day. It carries phone, iPad, snacks, water bottles (only use the bladder for hiking), drum sticks and music, and more. The expandable feature is useful, especially in the fall/winter to carry extra layers or a light rain jacket. Love the versatility in such a compact, easy to tote pack.

Great size for quick hikes

I bought this as a gift for my mom. She wanted a small backpack that would work for short summer hikes and walks with the dog. She needs to be able to carry some water and snacks for herself and the pup, including some ice cubes in case it's too hot for the little guy! This is the perfect size, and the petrol blue color is nice and bright. She doesn't mountain bike much, but I imagine this would be perfect for that as well!
