Freerider Pro SL 28L Backpack

Add some color to winter's black-and-white color scheme with Deuter's fully functional Freerider Pro 28 SL Backpack. Its women-specific Alpine Back System includes X-frame aluminum stays for stability, a flexible Delrin U-shaped frame for mobility, padded shoulder straps, and a removable back panel that doubles as a sitting pad for digging pits and studying snow. The Freerider also features Deuter's Vari Flex waist belt that pivots with your hips for easier mobility on the mountain.

Like every backcountry ski pack, the Freerider features a compartment designed specifically for avalanche gear like a probe and shovel. Unlike most ski packs, the Freerider has an extra compartment designed specifically for wet gear. It also carries skis, snowboards, helmets, ice axes, and trekking poles. There are zippered security and fleece-lined pockets to store electronics and valuables. This pack is also hydration compatible for any 3-liter reservoir or smaller.

Excellent day pack

I've put it through the wringer

The Deuter Freerider 28 Pro fits my smaller frame perfectly. I really struggle to find packs that my small (5'2") frame can ski in comfortably. I generally struggle with packs that constantly hit me in the back of the head and compromise my skiing. The Freeride 28 easily fits everything I need for a day tour (including a large puffy and other layers) without compromising fit. The only spec I wished it didn't cover was a better ski carry system. While, I can attach my skis to the pack, I wish it was possible to A-frame the skis.

It says it's a-frame compatible. Why do you feel as though you can't?

Hey Sara E! I have an earlier version of this pack that was not a-frame compatible, this one definitely is!

Is the A-frame carry possible with a splitboard? about 130-140mm
