Fox 40+4L Backpack
It's time for Junior to start pulling his weight around here—he isn't quite ready to join the workforce, but a little help on the trail would be nice. Strap the Deuter Kids' Fox 40 Pack on his back and he'll be as happy as you are. That's because Deuter is famous for making weight comfortable. The Fox 40 is based on Deuter's adult trekking packs and borrows technology, like the breathable, molded back panel that is designed to fuse the hiker and pack into one entity, to increase maneuverability and comfort while promoting airflow to cool Junior during the hike.

Real Pack that Truly Grows with Your Kid
- I've put it through the wringer
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 5` 3"
- 117 lbs
We bought Two Deuter Fox 40s in 2013 for our then 7 and 9 year olds. Over the last 6 years they have seen a lot of use from hiking the full Long Trail (272 miles plus), to day trips, to winter camping. They have grown with our kids from pint size to bigger than I am. Yet, they are comfortable, versatile as ever, and still look near new. These packs are the real deal. The back straps are highly adjustable making it easy to dial in a perfect fit. In fact, on 15 mile days, I’ve been quite jealous. The fit is great and the load distribution, even at 20 plus pounds is perfect. Their size works for weeklong trips with ultra lite gear and yet doesn’t feel over sized for a day hike. My kids see themselves using their packs for years to come, so much so that I will buy a new one for my niece, because we won’t be handing them down any time soon even tough my oldest child is now 15 and close to her full size.

My sons first pack
- 6` 1"
- 185 lbs
He wanted to go backpacking for his 7th birthday and carry his own gear. So we got him this pack and it has worked great. He carried his sleeping bag, clothing, lantern and stuff animals with no difficulties. I look forward to following this pack around on many more adventures.

August 27, 2019
Hey Lathca! This pack has a length-adjustable back system that should fit torso lengths 11-18 inches! Hope that helps! -Hunter
