I've used it several times

Reliable protected shorts. Saves me not ones

Not good for snow sports

I've used it several times

It provide good side/thigh protection and tailbone shield, but other than that everywhere else is basically exposed or poorly padded. Not sure how useful thigh shield are for others, in my case i rarely if ever needed it. If you are looking for protection for when you fall on your bottom while ski/snowboarding, this won't do much.

Saves your *ss!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Wore these snowboarding. Saved my legs and my tailbone after a few rough spills. Can't go wrong with this brand. Comfortable, not bulky, yet protective as heck.

Good protection

I've used it several times

I've used these snowboarding for about a month now. They work great. They protected my a$$ and tailbone a couple times when hitting some rails and boxes. Also washed out in the pipe a few times and didn't hurt landing on my butt. I find myself wanting to land on my backside and not put my hands down to save my wrists from the impact. I'm no pro but I'm not as intimidated to go a little bigger now. Plus they help keep everything a little warmer on the super cold days. I would recommend these to friends who are trying to improve their skills in the park.

not great for snowboard

I returned this product before using it

the protection seems very nice, but it does not smell nice out of the box. The tail bone protection is great, but the tight seems too much for snowboard.

Demon Shield Shorts

Which one gives a better tailbone and hip protection? I'm a beginner snowboarder. Protection is more important than flexibility to me. This one seems to give a better tailbone protection due to the plastic cover, but the padding is thin (also on the tailbone area). On the other hand, Demon Snow Flex-Force X D30 Short seems well padded. But I'm not sure whether D3O would gives good protection as plastic does. So, any suggestion?

None of the demon snow shorts are going to be what you are looking for- except, maybe the azzpad. The "padding" on the x d30 is the same as these, the difference is the tailbone protection and the x d30 is better at high speed impact. The problem I had with the x d30 is that it's too thick and it actually hurts when I land on it because it's the only thing there to land on. Maybe consider the hillbilly padded shorts, they are not as well made as the demon snow shorts but they have more padding where you need it. Azzpad is a good option or something similar too.
