Almost perfect

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I left a comment on the youtube video for these boots but I maybe Deeluxe had it deleted(?). These boots are great, the right amount of stiffness (for me), weight and features. The liner is amazing with its padded tongue and heel harness. Plenty wide toe box and good heel hold. But the reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of 5 star review is that the traction in the sole is horrible. And the traction on the forefoot and heel are exactly great either. Watch every step you take when walking. The ride in these boots were fantastic, they felt decently broken in after a couple runs. While the speed lacing isn't quite as snug as boa, they were fine. But the soles have no traction whatsoever in the midsole so when the front and heel of the boot press into the snow, your weight is supported by the smooth midsole and you will slip if not careful. For me it's not a deal breaker, but I'm a little shocked that the boot can seem so well designed yet the sole so poorly done. It could be dangerous on a steep slope boot pack. I'm trying to get in touch with Deeluxe to give them constructive feedback. If they upgrade the soles I would buy again for sure.
