Ive been on a quest to replace my assos circa 2011 kits. Mille training shorts and my FI13 over the top floating chamois bibs with something as awesome. Assos has definitely gotten greedy with their new stuff and it's no where near the same quality, i like Santini and have 4 custom kits from our race team, but I haven't been able to find anything in their line thats comparable to my old mille and F13's. Dollar for dollar Santini is likely of the best, however I wanted something more premium, Last year i purchased a pair of de marchi perfecto plus bibs and they were every bit of premium I was hoping for. Fantastic chamois, nice compression and comfortable on a 4 hour ride. My only complaint was that they only come with a silver/white reflector on the leg gripper and I wanted something more subdued that would match my other jerseys better. I got these bad boys on sale and they are pretty much exactly as I hoped, similar fit and construction to the perfecto's but at 112 bucks they are a steal for the money. If perfecto plus is on sale buy those, but for 100 less at regular price these will not disappoint. Large fits me, but i definitely can't get any fatter, they are long so if i went to xl they would be too long and into my knee. I'm long in the torso and no issues with the straps.
