Steaks are for tenderizing. Shins aren't.

Your shin bone is not a belt, so don't put notches in it. The Darn Tough Merino Wool Over-The-Calf Padded Ultra-Light Ski Socks protect your precious shins from sadistic ski boots. Merino wool insulates your feet against extremes in temperature, so you stay comfier longer.
    • Padded shin protects against boot-bite during forward lean
    • High-density cushioning protects your entire foot and lower leg
    • Ribbing above the ankle prevents slippage
    • Reinforced heel and toe increase sock's lifespan
    • Elastic arch adds support
    • Ring toe construction creates an undetectable seam

    Awesome Light Ski Socks

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Super comfy light ski socks! I've been skiing in thick wool socks until someone told me to switch over to light/thin socks. It made a huge difference in comfort for all day on the slopes. The padding is light enough to help with comfort but is not bulky. Darn Tough is the best for ski socks.

    Comfy and Cozy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These socks rock! I really like these Darn Tough socks because they don't cut off my circulation. Many other pairs of ski socks seem to leave indents in my leg because the seams are so tight around my calf; this is a huge issue because not only are most socks too tight on their own, they were downright painful once I cinched my boot shut.

Then I found this pair of seamless socks, and my circulation issues have dramatically improved. I love the cushion panels as well.

Definitely recommend these socks for any skier/boarder.

    Warm yet Light

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've always worn thick wool socks for skiing because I have such cold feet. But a recent ski boot fitting taught me that that can actually work against me when skiing. It's more important to have a good fitting boot with a warm liner (I have Full Tilts with an Intuition liner). A thinner sock will actually create a micoclimate in your boot, which is essentially a little heat pocket for heat to build and circulate, keeping your foot warmer than a big thick sock that fills any toe space that might be there otherwise. These socks also have a padded calf area which is important. It's the perfect sock for an aggressively fit boot.

    Thin, Yet Mighty!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These socks are amazing for snowsports! I get them with intention of having a thin but warm sock while breaking in my snowboard boots, but they are so much more than that! The Merino wool helps to wick away water and sweat while keeping my foot warm. Add in the extra padding at the shin to prevent shin-bang, elastic at the arch to keep a tight fit, and a tight knit to prevent slipping and you have an essential piece of winter gear. Get you some!

I needed some new ski socks and these are plush and thick comfort. They work well for my resort boots however they are a little too thick for me for touring. I prefer a thinner sock for those purposes

      Comfortable and Lightweight

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

Lightweight + Merino + Seamless + Padding = comfy feet. These are great ski socks, they breathe well and keep your feet dry. The padding offers a little more comfort for the shins, and the seamless construction prevent bunching in your ski boots. Plus, they're made in Vermont! I bought these for the Mrs. She wears a size 8.5 street shoe and the medium fits her perfectly.

      Best Lightweight Ski/Snowboard Sock

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I have officially been converted from Smartwool. Darn Tough is my favorite. They last the longest, and they are the softest wool socks I've used. Serious love for this brand. Comfortable, durable, merino wool, what more could you ask for?

      Happy Feet

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

These are my all time favorite socks! What I like best about them is that they really do fit above my calf and that not only keeps my leg warmer but also keeps the sock from scrunching down. These socks also rock because you don't have that annoying and uncomfortable seam along the toes.

These socks are super thin, so if you like the cushy feel, they are not the sock for you. But if you are looking for a sock that is comfortable, low profile, but still warm enough these are for you.

Darn tough saves the powder days!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I LOVE MY DARN TOUGH SOCKS! They are amazingly warm and they keep your feet dry if you sweat a lot like me (I know gross!). I hate stinky boots more than anyone and darntough has cured that. My boots have been so dry and I am so stoked! Also I have terrible circulation in my feet but once again darn tough saves the day. Their socks are so thin and it is so nice to be able to feel my toes while I'm skiing in 15 below weather. I wear a size 23 boot, 6 shoe and the smalls are perfect!

      These socks will not dissapoint!

Love these socks!! Quality wise, probably the best stitching on the market. They have the perfect blend of materials that keep you warm and dry, yet are lightweight. If you are breaking in a new pair of skiboots, these are the socks for you! They will make the experience must more pleasant. Highly recommended!
