Wide feet size up

I've used it several times
Runs small
Size Bought
5` 10"

Though the boot indicates EE width, it is indeed close to a normal toe box size. In the Danner 917 Logger I wear a size 10. In the Danner EE Mountain 600 I wear a 9.5. For this boot I started with 10.5 and had to exchange for an 11. That said, overall quality and comfort right out of the box make Danner so great. The comments about the laces being cheap are accurate. Not a big deal but disappointing. Not sure how much more weight would be added to the boot with thicker laces but I would accept the trade off. If you like the style - check the boots out.

Wear them till you're 90

I've put it through the wringer
Runs large

These boots (and Danner's entire Portland Select collection) are incredibly well made, and can literally last a lifetime if you treat them right. If you tromp around in these things as much as I do, innevitably the outsole of the boot will wear out before the leather in the upper does. The beatiful thing about these is that you can have them resoled by Danner! I love the unique character that the leather develops after many many uses (not to mention the custom fit), and these boots will remain as some of my favorites until I am too old to walk- at which time I will likely have them mounted/framed so they can hang in my house. I did find these run a little big, I sized down a half size.

Simply put - Danner makes great shoes

I've put it through the wringer
True to size

I have had several pairs of Danner shoes and all have been excellent quality. I decided to try the Mountain Pass after much internal debate...price vs quality...vs price. Backcounty was the only company where I found the Brown color in my size. I placed the order, boots arrive quickly and I have been wearing them everyday. It took about 2 weeks to break in and become more supple. However, they are great boots for everyday work. I work in a manufacturing environment but am required to dress for business. The boots help me accomplish that requirement. I can wear them with khakis and not be nervous when venturing outside my office onto the manufacturing floor.

Worst Experience with Backcounty

When I received these boots from Backcountry, they arrived with the right boot looking like it was used. I returned them to Backcountry on 12/26/19. The agent said that I would be refunded within 5 days. 7 days later when I was not refunded, I called and spoke with Backcountry, and they told me that I need to be patient. I waited 15 days and still had not been refunded so I chose to visit the store today. The manager told me that Backcountry had determined that they were used and they had only issued a store credit back on 12/27/19.. Very Frustrating!! I was the person that complained that they were used!! Why would they tell me to be patient and wait for my refund when they knew they were not refunding me. I spoke to the manager today and they are finally issuing a refund to me, but it will be at least 20 days from the time of the return to get refunded and I had to waste time to finally get it done. I told the manager to grab the boots (if they had not sold them) and I would show him the problem I experienced. He said that when they get returns, that they donate the items and do not resell them. Why would I get used boots if that were the case? Horrible experience.. Make your purchase from Moosejaw and avoid the run around with

Stylish and warm

Bought these for my husband: Super comfortable and warm boots that are great in the winter. The only problem I have is if I wear them to work, they're a bit warm to wear indoors for long periods and my feet get a little sweaty. Great boots though.

Love these boots!

These are perfect for work and wet conditions. They keep your feet dry and comfortable all day and there’s almost no break-in period for them to form to your feet. The only downside to these is that they are on the heavier side. But fantastic boots, they last forever even using them for work. The gtx (wide) is extremely helpful for wider feet!

Rio Latigo

Warning: The Mountain Pass in Rio Latigo is not Gore-Tex lined. Instead, it is lined with Dri-Lex, providing "water resistance" but not 100% waterproof. I'm not sure why Danner makes every other color of the Mountain Pass with Gore-Tex except this one. I was confused about this because different websites report different things in their product descriptions, so I called Danner directly and they confirmed that Rio Latigo is not Gore-Tex lined. Otherwise, it is a wonderful boot. It's just not waterproof...

Mountain Pass

Good quality boot but not all that comfortable. The insole feels lumpy and doesn't have much arch support. I'll be sending them back. The tread depth of the outsole is pretty shallow. If they're worn daily you'll end up sending them in for retread. I gave it 3 stars because of the comfort level

I see no width indicated, are they D width?

Hello Trevor, In the tech specs these say they are "Wide-EE" Hope this helps, Henry S.
