I have a couple pair of Danner boots. They couldn't be better. They fit like a glove and wear very well. The North Fork Rambler is an entirely different animal. It's build on a different last with none of the fit feat. They've wide and despite tightening the laces, never would fit. Others might be happy with these but do understand they are not built the same way as Danner's other boots.

North Fork Bark. Worn these for about a year, really no break in period needed like my Danner Mojave Brawler Light. I use these mainly for walking on concrete floors all day and some light work outside. Not waterproof, but don't really need that here in Phoenix to much! Im not a fan of nubuck leather, holding up pretty well, just like smooth leather better. Vibram soles are cushy, should get 2-3 years out of them before they lose too much tread. These are not recraftable, according to Danner, the only negative really. They fit about true to size, maybe a half size smaller than athletic shoes. I like them enough to order another pair in the Cathay Spice, smooth leather on these though!
