Storm Liner Glove

We all know how important it is to stay connected, but fumbling with your phone in a snow storm is a drag. That's why Dakine created its Storm Liner Gloves. They add warmth to your winter shells, and they can be worn alone for aerobic activities in chilly weather. Either way, you won't have to take them off to operate your touchscreen gadgets, and that means no more frozen fingers. Plus, there's a silicone print on the palms to provide extra grip, no matter what you've got your paws on.

Versatile, Effective & Priced Just Right

Familiarity:

These are excellent, versatile gloves at a very convenient price point. I own several pairs and use them for everything from running errands to just plain running. The e-tips on the fingers work consistently, which isn't true of all gloves that claim to have this feature. I frequently use these as a base liner with ski gloves that have removable liners, because I can leave them on while using my phone on the chairlift. Warmth is low/moderate, and these definitely aren't waterproof. Solid though for fall or spring and as a winter liner. I would call the loft medium compared to other liners. Durability is excellent. I've machine washed them dozens of times, and the only noticeable impact is the palm grippy material is cracked here and there (but hasn't peeled off). Rock solid.

Keep Coming Back to These

I've had a pair of these liners for many years of regular use, now. They look cool and function well. Obviously, they're no match for serious winter temps, but I use them as stand-alone light gloves on warmer winter and fall days. The fabric is robust, soft, and breathable. They typically live in my camera bag for those mornings when I get cocky and run out without real gloves, as they offer good grip and dexterity. The textured palms are helpful when driving, too. Even after hours upon hours of use in all sorts of conditions, the touchscreen tips still work, and there is basically no wear or tear at all. Even the rubberized texture areas are 100% intact, which honestly blows my mind. My only complaint is that they run slightly large: I'm a good fit for most M gloves, at exactly 8" around my palm, but these are 8.5" and are a bit too loose to wear under your average shell or system. I'm now shopping for a new pair of liners as a pricey set from Arc'teryx blew out a fingertip after only ~10 uses, and I like these enough that I'm strongly considering getting them again, despite all the interesting new models that have come out in the interim.

More than a liner but not quite a glove?

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Overall these do what I expected, work as a good driving glove and something to provide some protection when brushing off the car or shoveling some snow. The material is kind of neoprene-ish with a fleece cuff and they come up pretty high. These are definitely thicker than the silk liners that I have but probably don't offer quite enough protection for most activities in the dead of winter. That all said, they are fantastically dexterous and they have worked flawlessly with iPhone. I would definitely buy again as I like a lighter weight glove for running errands, running, and maybe even cooler weather biking (spring/fall). Hope this review helps! Chris D

Pretty solid liners

I use these for a little bit of everything: hiking, hunting, daily walks. They pair well with the Dakine Titan mitts on cold days or while winter camping. For the price, these are a nice pair of gloves that actually work with touch screens. They are thin, so if you're looking for a thicker liner or a warmer liner, maybe look elsewhere. I haven't had many issues with them, because I use them while active but these aren't what I reach for when it gets cold.
