keep my hands warm (nothing else has)

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

i use these to run, ride, ski, walk dogs. These keep my hands warm in -5 degrees F, so far. No other mittens or gloves have kept my always cold hands this warm! My hands are always cold!! I DO spend a LOT of time outside. I live in the Eastern Sierras at 7500 feet elevation.

Didn't Keep Hands Warm

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I feel like I have been in a continued struggle to find mittens/gloves that keep my hands warm while skiing. I don't have great circulation in my hands, and when they're too cold it becomes painful. I was so hopeful about these mittens given the thick liner they come with and the area to place hand warmers. However, last year when we went skiing, I was miserable because my hands were so cold. In slightly warmer conditions or for a purpose like hiking these may be fine, but they didn't work for me skiing in roughly 25-30 degree weather. Still on the hunt.

too big

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

i have small hands. i bought an xs. it is still huge, even though the liner fits. you can't do anything with them because theres so much extra fabric. not for people with small hands. if you're not concerned about size, probably a fine glove. but if you are concerned, beware and try on in store because you purchase here and pay $6.99 to return a poorly advertised glove.

Great Mittens

I gave these to my niece, and she loves them! The fit is great, and they come with a liner glove which is really nice.

The warmest mitten around

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These mittens are warm - SO WARM! These are truly for intense cold and wind. I used them a few times for winter hiking and had to take them off because they are so warm. They are truly a heavy duty mitten. I love the Gortex material to stay dry and am looking forward to using these during the coldest of winter days.

Gave As a Gift

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

"The Dakine Sequoia mittens were a godsend when I went snowboarding in Upstate New York in December. The temperatures were below zero, and the mittens and the additional liners made all the difference. At one point my hands were sweating they were so warm! I would also say that the inserts are true to size. I was afraid that the liners would be too small and would cut off my circulation, but they were perfect. I ordered a size Medium in black so they would match with everything. The mittens are GoreTex so they stay dry all-day long and are a thick material that will withstand many years of use. Very happy with these!"

Jealous of these Mittens!

Got these mittens for my wife. She absolutely loves them! The color design is fun and looks great in person; more importantly the GTX liner keeps the wet out and breathes well. Plenty of warmth as well, and the liners add a little extra heat on those cold days; and if that isn't enough there's a great zippered pocket over the knuckles for a hand warmer. The favored feature is the rubberized palm; super durable while hold the sharp edge of the board and has great grip too. All around a wonderful mitten!

DAKINE Sequoia Mitten

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love these mittens! They are comfortable and warm. I also love that they come with a set of liners. I originally bought the small and found that they were a bit snug with the liners on. I sized up to a medium and found that they fit great.

Warm mitts, excellent value!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

I finally caved and got mitts after a few especially cold days on the mountain, and my fingers are so much happier for it! A little fumbly with snowboard bindings, but that's going to be the case with any full mitt, and they are nice and warm. The back zipper compartment works great with hand warmers, and I like the long cuffs to go over my jacket sleeves. It's also a great deal that the glove liners are included, and I really appreciate the touch screen compatibility on those. Two minor flaws that I'm willing to overlook at this price point: 1) the glove liners are badly pilling and seams coming loose after only 3 uses (see pic), and 2) I wish it was a more secure buckle that holds the two mitts together when not in use rather than the flimsy open clip. Still, I'm happy with these and they were a bargain compared to other brands!

These are good mittens, I bought them as a gift, and they do a great job of keeping her hands warm.

Do these have a wrist leash?

Answering my own question but yes they do have a wrist leash. Warm and very comfortable too.
