The Dakine Scout is a really good glove

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought a pair of Dakine Scout gloves because my other ski gloves weren't cutting it on really cold days on the mountain. The Scouts cut it and then some. They're really two gloves in one -- literally -- because they come with liners that you can wear separately or inside the Scout gloves on the very coldest of days. Even without the liner, the Scouts are long and warm, fastening tightly around the wrist if desired and going right over your jacket sleeves to act as a snow skirt for your arms. Good stuff.

    Pretty great for the $$

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I do a lot of winter sports and have gone through quite a few gloves over the years. By now I've had several pairs of these as well as the titan and bronco from Dakine. I've come to like synthetic gloves better than leather and these are the best you can do for the $$. The titan and bronco are gore tex and more expensive and a little bit more waterproof but with either of those I still usually end up swapping them halfway through the day while snowmobiling but for a ski day they tend to remain pretty dry. They all seem to get wet and wear out eventually snowmobiling. I rarely use the liners of any of these with the gloves as they feel too bulky but they do double as a great set of running gloves or gloves to keep in your city jacket. For the $ these are great and as you move up the Dakine line things do get a little better but these are a great bang for your buck and hold up well.

    Warm, Waterproof & Windproof

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these for a winter camping trip that -10 degrees out. Hands were warm the entire time and I was outside virtually all day. Great product, very happy with purchase

    A Solid Option

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these gloves to because of the price and the overall rating. They have not disappointed me yet. I've taken them skiing and have even used the liners for running. It's been real cold lately, so the outside temps have been below 25 or 30. Certainly, there are warmer options out there, but these will get the job done.

    Warm and simple

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Great glove. My sister wears these walking around campus or on the mountain skiing. Overall a very versatile glove, with some warmth and flexibility. Doesn't keep the hands as warm as other gloves might, bu they're great for the all around-use.

Not very warm without the liners

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

From the reviews I read, I thought this glove would be a lot warmer. Tried it out a couple of times on mornings that were both 33 or 34 degrees--without the liners on, my fingers did not stay warm. They were not uncomfortably cold but a few degrees colder outside and then I would have noticed. I really don't want to have to wear the liners when it is 33 degrees out, but I will say the removable liners seem to be pretty good. I should have put the money toward a better cold weather glove.

Not Very Warm - At Least to Me

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I consider myself "sensitive to the cold" but not overly. Key, of course, is to keep hands, ears and feet warm, so having read so many reviews on here about how warm these gloves are, they are barely adequate (in my opinion) for use in low 30's without the liner--it was 34 and a bit windy this morning, and this was my second time wearing the gloves. Just like the first time (in similar conditions), allthough my fingers weren't cold, they were definitely cool in these gloves. Warm they most certainly were not! Wasn't wearing the liners but I shouldn't have to it if it is just in the low 30's. Guess I had higher expectations for this glove used based on the reviews--I'll keep looking for a warmer glove, but I would not recommend these gloves. My 2 cents anyway.

    Affordable Versatile Gloves

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

You cannot beat the price for these gloves! The inner removable liners ensure extra warmth. They have held up in wet conditions well. Keep hands toasty for skiing. On warmer ski days you have the option of just wearing the glove outer shell.

I got this glove for skiing and snowboarding. I love the little squeegee feature on my index finger for my googles! They run true to size. I got a small and it fits perfectly. The outer glove fits a little bulky but what ski glove doesn't? Highly recommend this glove. Warm and is a decent price,

    Simple Perfection

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought these for the boyfriend as a simple replacement pair of gloves, and he loves these. The liners are great - warm and well fitting. The gloves themselves are tough and well put together. A solid buy, and at a great price, too!

Gloves. Where do I start with these gloves. The price? The quality? The style? It honestly does not matter where you start, because at some point or another, whomever uses these gloves will be forced to acknowledge all of the above features. Wow, just wow.

    Great glove for the price.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these for my sons as a Christmas gift. They have worn these skiing, hiking and shoveling snow and have kept warm after hours of activity. I think they are one of the better gloves out there without the hefty price tag.

    Best moderate price glove around

If you aren't looking to drop 200 dollars on a pair of Hestras but still want a glove that is going to be solid then this is the one for you. The gloves include frost scraped and a wipe to clear off anything else that might get on your goggles. I got these for my brother since his gloves were trashed and he loves them. Would recommend to anyone looking to save a bit of money but still wanting a good glove.

Very Warm & Tons of Features!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

I used these gloves for a week for extreme cold & windy boarding in powder and they were fantastic. The fleece liners are really cool even on their own. The fleece is somehow waterproof (not even sure how but I spent an hour shoveling snow with just the liners, I was covered in snow and my hands were dry), they have grippy stuff on the palm side and the finger tips work with phone touchscreens. This was great since I could use the outer glove just when riding and the liners for reading trail maps, using my phone, driving, etc. The outer gloves have wrist straps so they don't get lost, a strap for tightening the cuff around your sleeve, which is easy enough to do with the other glove on, just grab and pull. The left thumb has a goggle scraper blade and right thumb has a soft part for wiping your nose. They have really thought the design through and it shows.
