Well Built

I got this for my brother for Christmas and he loves it. He needed a ski bag for traveling, but didn't want anything huge. This offers good protection and padding, while still giving extra space for additional padding to be added to his skis and poles. He'll be flying with it in a couple weeks and I'll try to update once he's gotten some experience with it.

    Great Ski Bag

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this bag for my AT skis, and liked the idea of the padding. It is comfortable to carry over the shoulder with the straps, and the padding means that the contents of the bag are not nailing you in the legs as you walk. I should mention that I do wrap the bindings in a towel, secured by duct tape, just in case. And from now on, I will wrap and further pad the tips, since they did get a bit roughed up, despite the padding. But that is a function of rough baggage handling, and any bag that completely protected the contents would be too thick and unwieldy.

    Perfect fit!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great bag. Clean and simple. Fits one pair of skis and poles comfortably. Enough padding to keep my gear from knocking around in the back of my car. Wouldn't trust it for flight. Go with a hard shell case if that's your goal.

    Plenty of Padding

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So far used it for mainly car travel and lugging around from dorm room to slopes and back. Skis have fallen while inside and no damage at all. The old bag I used for air travel had even less padding so i have no doubt this will work well. A note on the shipping, it was amazing, they shipped this bag faster than I could possibly believe. Will definitely be using backcountry again!

    Planes, trains, or automobile travel!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Have used a number of times for air travel and also hauling around in a car. Works great. Enough space to toss in a few shirts, ski-pants, gloves and other clothes to cushion the skis additionally during travel. Possibly wouldn't trust baggage handlers with this without the added padding of clothes, but either way, a fantastic bag.

Also, received countless compliments on how cool it looks!

Great bag, works for air travel

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've never had an issue with Dakine bags, and this one is no exception. Very sturdy, no issues lugging it through the airport. I bought the 190 cm option even though my skis are only 169. I was hoping to squeeze my helmet in there but I couldn't get the zipper shut. I didn't have any problem filling the space though, and stowed away my jacket, snowpants, gloves, shoes, etc in any available space. There is not *quite* a shoulder strap, but the pictured hand-hold is large enough to sling over my shoulder. My only con is that there is no way to cinch the bag snugly shut to hold the skis in place (that is, if you haven't stuffed the gaps with other gear).

    Maybe not for air travel

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

With the way skis get tossed around at airports this is not all that well suited for air travel. A hard case with wheels is a much safer and more convenient bet. This would be great for keeping your gear organized in a car full of hippies, dogs and soggy winter gear but otherwise I'd pass.

Bought the 175cm Women's model and love it. We travel internationally and it has protected her skis and poles every time. I added 5 inch high compression padding on each end to protect tips & tails since her skis are 150's. My only wish is these bags had compression straps to tighten around skis.

    Unanswered Question

Can I figure out, If I buy this one, is this come with folded condition or not?

If is this come with 175cm long, i have to consider change shipping address.

So, please let me know the shipping status.

Hi, I am looking at purchasing 174cm skis. Will the 175cm bag fit the skis as well as the bindings? Thank you
