    Make fanny packs cool again.

Designed for shorter singletrack loops, the Dakine Hot Laps 2L Hip Pack stashes your biking accessories, snacks, and water bottle without the extra weight. This fanny pack is tougher than most thanks to a burly, abrasion-resistant construction, and it fits comfortably around your waist with a breathable air mesh backpanel when the ride heats up. A fleece-lined pocket within the zippered main compartment keeps your smartphone from getting scratched, while the internal mesh pocket stores spare tubes, levers, energy gels, or any other small basics you may need. It also holds an extra water bottle within its deployable side pocket if you're without a cage.

    • Durable fabric keeps up through your harsher rides
    • Buckle customizes an exact fit

    Great For Trail Running Too!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this pack for a trail race over the weekend and it was the perfect accessory to hold my extra gear. The streamlined design felt like I was wearing nothin at all, and I was able to fit a pair of gloves (lots of snow up high still), some power blocks and other snacks, and a change of socks. From a utilitarian standpoint it was a game changer on the race course, but it also helped step up my apres game with some fashion points as I wore it throughout the post race festivities and well into the evening. All in all, I was very happy I brought it.

Better than a pack for short rides

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love using this for short rides. I usually store an extra tube, multi tool, snack, phone, and a few other items depending how you store them. Water bottle stays on even during rough downhill sections

Good for a quick ride or hike

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used this for both biking and hiking when I need to carry stuff and water. Great for a quick ride where you don't need a lot of gear or for a ride that you don't need lots of extra water. Pack stays put even when loaded and doesn't bounce around like the bladder based waist pack I tried. It's been around the world and has held up great. Compared to other options, the value is fantastic.

    hips and sips

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love the Hip pack! When I'm doing quick loops by the house under an hour I keep all my goodies on my bike. If it's going to be a longer run or I'm taking demo bikes out I like the hip pack. It allows me to pack my phone, tools, pump and water out on the ride in case of emergency. If i'm doing the all day I'll grab the back pack or I'll wear a pair of bibs and stuff the pockets.

I keep this stocked at all time just waiting to hit the trail what a great pack!

    Hip packs are back!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used to ride with a hip back..in the early 90's heheehe! Super nice to have them come back, and be so comfy. I use this on smaller rides with the minimal gear needed and it's really nice to not have a hot back :)! Ride light, ride fast, ride on!! woohoo!

    Perfect for a quick lap

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very nice, a great amount of room. The stealth is just a little too small. I carry some basic med stuff, my multitool, phone, and wallet. Can for sure fit more. Also a water bottle strap!

    Comfortable pack for MTB

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Get that weight off your back! This pack stays in place nicely throughout the ride. It holds a water bottle securely and has plenty of room to store a spare tube, tools, even a rain jacket!

    Good but could be better

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Cool style, simple design, comfortable. The way it holds a water bottle sucks. It is a two handed operation to get the bottle back seated in the sleeve.

    great

more side pockets! I fashioned up a pocket on the side for my tool and a co2. The stretchy addition to the strap seems to be a great upgrade over the non stretchy strap of the old 1.5L . I was surprised by how well this held a water bottle. I would recommend giving it a try! Holds a lot of stuff as well.

      Perfect size

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased this pack for extra water/gear for longer rides so I don't have to wear a pack. I hardly notice I'm wearing it, and its just the right size for an extra water bottle, some snacks, and whatever else I need to stash.

Light, comfortable & the perfect size

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought my boyfriend a hip pack of a different brand that was twice as expensive and he still stole my Dakine! This bag is light, fits well, wicks well and is the perfect size.

      Hop Lap Hero

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Want to get out for a quick morning or lunch loop? Bring your hot laps 2L and you'll be set. It can hold a spare bottle of water, tools and snacks for a 5-20 mile ride.

      Nice hip pack

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased this for my fiance since he was tired of his normal bike pack. He really likes it so far and it carries the essentials.

Okay, let's pro/con this superhero thing

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pack was recommended to me by a buddy after I expressed frustration with how heavy and cumbersome most hydration packs are; he steered me towards this bag, telling me he uses it himself.

I find this bag to be perfect for mountain biking. It holds the gear I need, plus a water bottle. With a second bottle on my bike, I'm set for most rides. These don't pull on your shoulders and neck like a backpack does, and don't flop around whilst bombing the chunk. And with no pack on my back, I shed heat much more quickly. I have no problem getting the bottle out and back in using one hand, or unzipping and zipping the pouch the same way if I need to access gear. Most of my rides are 1-2 hours, so this bag is perfect for me.

The 5 liter version of this bag was more than I needed, and the stealth pack wasn't enough. This guy really hits the sweet spot!

      Beats riding with a pack

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

      Fits:
Co2, multitool, keys, wallet, phone, snack, tube, and tire levers with ease. If you try really hard you can get a chesty with a gopro in there as well. Wish the strap was a bit more comfortable, but it beats riding with a pack any day.

Good waist pack. Could be better

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Almost everything about this pack is good. Except for the one reason you want a waist pack. The way it holds a water bottle requires a two handed operation to get the bottle back in securely. Overall good, but could be better
