Why We Like The Dakine Fall Line Ski Roller Bag

We're not flying all the way to the towering peaks of Colorado and shelling out big money for lift tickets to opt for rentals over our preferred skis. Rather, we load up the Dakine Fall Line Ski Roller Bag to ensure the trusty planks we know and love make it there safely. It offers room for boots, poles, and two pairs of skis, and it's fully padded to protect them from careless luggage handlers.

One Bag for Skis, Boots, Gear & Clothes

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought this bag to be able to put a set of skis, my boots and ski gear as well as street clothes all in one bag. It works great for that. I pack my gear and clothes in travel cubes so stuff is not loose in the bag. I don't need to travel with any other bags, which makes ski travel much easier - only one rolling bag. Tough fabric has proved durable on multiple flights. The bag does end up weighing 54-56 lbs, which is "heavy". My United baggage allowance is up to 70 lbs, so not a problem.

Good bag

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

People seem awfully hard on their reviews of this bag. I’ve had one for about 5 years and taken multiple trips abroad with it. I generally get 2 full pairs of ski in, poles, a pair of boots. Last year I got three pairs of skiis, two pairs boots plus gear in the larger version. This year I got my fiancé a second pair of skiis and got the smaller size bag for her. I was a little worried after looking at the two prior reviews. We just got back from Whistler and I’ve got no complaints. I am very diligent about packing the bags efficiently and make sure there are no sharp edges that could poke through the bag. The skiis breaks I tape down so only flat surfaces touch the walls.

okay Ski Bag

The bag is okay, not bad or great. The main flaw is that the bag does not have a division between skis. The boot portion is only good for small boots, not my shoe size 13 boots). I bought the bag but will give it away.

Dakine filters out bad reviews on the Dakine website. I bought this bag for my brother in law for Christmas. He flew home with it, and on the bag's maiden voyage (SFO-Seattle) it ripped. Huge rip on the seem. I posted the same review shortly thereafter, and it was pulled own. I asked for the bag to be replaced and received a discount on my next purchase. I appreciated the discount, but the bag was a week old. I've bought boarding bags, bed liners, gloves, mountain bike pads, biking/boarding gloves, etc. and what really sucks that I won't buy another product from this company again. Scraping your site for legitimately bad reviews is dishonest. You'll find the review on some of your top web retailers' websites. Bummed. It would have been cheaper to keep me as a customer.
