Covert Glove

The Dakine Covert Gloves' simple design and unpadded construction ensure secure hand-to-bar feel, without skimping on the details. The body of the gloves are sewn from a 4-way stretch airmesh fabric that wicks moisture away from your skin, and allows you to move your fingers freely. Aiding this mobility are neoprene knuckle flex panels, while silicone grippers added to the touchscreen-compatible fingertips let you engage easily with brake levers and shifters for clean, fast shifting. Microfleece thumbs are perfect for wiping sweat from your brow in between your favorite singletrack rides.

  • Grip the bars with secure, breathable, and dexterous comfort
  • Moisture-wicking airmesh fabric pulls sweat to keep your hands cool
  • Synthetic suede palm adds a tough, reliable grip on bumpy rides
  • Touchscreen-compatible fingertips let you post and swipe mid-ride
  • Polygiene odor control helps keep your gloves fresh after riding
  • Microfleece wipe helps clear sweaty brows and dirty lenses

For starters - I'm a 46 year old beginning rider who rides on flat trails at a leisurely pace. I say that only to emphasize that I am not doing any sort of extreme (or even advanced) riding that would put undue strain on the gloves. I went out for my very first ride with the gloves - a 10 mile ride on a flat trail with no jump. bumps, crashes, etc. When I got home I noticed a tear on the palm/thumb of the right hand. (see photo). Obviously, I was extremely disappointed and returned them immediately. Also - I was only given a partial refund, which disappointed me even more. Support at Competitive Cyclist told me that they had to keep $8.95 for shipping - something to do with them having to pay it to the manufacturer or whatever. I feel that's an issue between Competitive Cyclist and Dakine, quite honestly, and I shouldn't be made to pay anything since I was sold a terrible product. I was told that if I had asked for an exchange for the same gloves instead it would have been fine, but a) I didn't know that in advance and b) I don't want another pair of the same gloves that I have zero confidence in since they tore so easily and quickly.

Great looking, but tore on first ride

Very bummed! These gloves look great and fit well (not too tight), but tore during my first ride without crashing! The seam between the mesh material and the suede is quite weak, would not buy again. Pros: Touch screen pad works well, grip is good, breathable Cons: Extremely poor durability

Preliminary review after just having received my order. The glove fits well once on the hand, but getting there is a bit of a pain. The wrist opening is a bit narrow, and the elastic doesn't have enough give. It's as if they didn't scale up the wrist opening with hand size. As such pulling the glove onto my hand is actual work. I am hoping that it will losen up a bit with use, because as I said the glove otherwise fits very well.

Sick glove... Until the 3rd ride when the seam on the thumb split. Didn't even fall, they just ripped as a result of riding.

Slip on Awesome

I am a fan! Not too bulky but not too light. Fit is true to size, super comfortable, breathable, awesome grip and they dry quickly. Silicone gripper finger and thumb give a nice contact feel on brake and shifter. Touch screen tip works most of time which is nice vs having to always take your gloves off. Polygiene Odor Control def helps keep the stink down too!

Freaking Awesome Gloves

Love em. They are comfortable like thick silk but durable. I always wear gloves when smashing the trails - and Dakine is fine!

Awesome Glove

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

First time trying this thing out and I think I'm in love. I'd have issues in the past with gloves just falling apart on me, but after a few rides these seem pretty durable. Nice comfortable, true to size fit with good grip and breathable material. The touchscreen tips usually work, for the most part, so that was another positive. Dig em!
