love it

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great bag, tons of storage space. It has plenty of space for multiple pairs of boots or boots with lots of gear. The interior lining is very easy to wipe down and keep clean. Love the shoulder strap, it has a nice amount of cushion.

Love this bag

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is a great way to no longer take 5 trips to the car to get all my stuff ready to go. This allows me to get to the slopes quicker which means more powder to shred.

Great boot bag

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Simple, easy to use, cool colors, and carries your boot while keeping them safe during travel in car or plane. I have taken mine around the world and they are durable! Plus there is enough room to put in other gear like gloves, face masks, etc.

Purpose Built, Purpose Fulfilled

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I got this for a interstate snowboard trip, and it fits exactly what I need: Size 11 boots, helmet, clothes, goggles, mask, and a few miscellaneous accessories. Could even fit my 16L Osprey Karve backpack if I really wanted to. Great design with the lower boot compartment. Fit: True to Size

Always feel secure

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Anytime I'm going up to ride the resort/bc I can rest assured knowing i've got all the essentials in this bag. Everything including my boots, helmet, gloves, goggles, & even some extra layers still leaves enough room for climbing skins and a few extras. The bottom boot compartment is made of a nice durable material that can withstand putting in ski boots dirty from the parking lot.

Can't live without it

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I've been looking for a boot bag with extra storage and found this one. It fits my boots and has room for several pair of ski pants, 2 jackets, gloves, helmet, goggles, and much more. If your a traveller this is the bag for you.

Great boot and gear bag

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just took this bag on an alpine ski trip from Minnesota to Lake Tahoe. Enough room for my boots, helmet, gloves and other accessories -- and I was able to carry it on board the plane with no hassle. I would recommend this bag.

Portable locker

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have used these bags since I was a kid and some how they are just as big as I remember. I have enough space to bring all of my snow boarding gear but this bag could carry enough for a weekend ski trip. It is durable and does the job. Would recommend!

Organization and function at its best!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

The Boot Locker makes staying organized while traveling with ski or snowboard gear so much easier. I love the separate areas for boots and other gear. I am able to fit all the gear i need for a day on the hill other than my board or skis in this making my life much easier and making it easy to keep track of all my miscellaneous gear. These are well made and well designed and will hold up to years of use.

Got one for me too

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I originally bought one for my honey, as you can see in my review earlier. He loved it so much, I wanted one too. I got the navy/ orange combo- The orange is less bright than the photo, but I still like it a lot! I think I'll even use it for more than just ski trips!

Great Bag

This is the perfect size to keep all my gear ready to go. The waterproof liner material keeps snowy boots separated. Only thing that could be improved would be a dedicated space for goggles.

Fits everything

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this as a gift for my fiance hoping it would fit his huge feet (Size 12) snowboard boots alone. He was so excited! It fits his boots in a separate space and still has room in the duffle part above! As we are packing for a trip, he told me it fit his goggles, helmet, and literally everything EVERYTHING he is bringing. (snowpants, socks, clothes, you name it) I like the fact that it's a good size and shape for packing and will be great for keeping all the gear together.

AWESOME BAG

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love this bag. I love that it keeps your boots separate from the rest of your clothing so that everything stays dry. Also love the size of this bag. Just the right size to fit all my snow gear (helmet included) along with extra base layers and a extra change of clothes. Can carry everything to the car in one go now.

Light and Sturdy

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave my brother this bag for an early Christmas present. He is an avid skier but doesn't live so close to the mountain. This bag is perfect for storing his boots and doesn't scratch anything in his car. It is the right size for a pair of boots and throw in a pair of socks and you're good to go!

>Rating: 5

Awesome bag. Just right size

Been super happy with this bag. Holds literally the perfect amount. Boots and socks on the bottom and the top is surprisingly large - enough to hold a weekends worth of base layers, all accessories and my helmet. Travels easy on planes (checked) and when not in use it folds down pretty small.

One to rule them all!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I was a bit skeptical of this bag until I saw that both of my 75mm toe Scarpa telemark boots spaciously fit in the boot compartment. All of the rest of my gear fits in the main compartment with plenty of room. Jacket, pants, gloves, spare gloves, two sets of goggles, and even my Poacher RAS vest (backpack). The best part is using standing on bottom compartment of the foot locker in the parking lot and changing.

This is My Dream Bag

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

What more can I say?! Whether I'm storing my gear for the off-season, or am packing it up to hit the slopes for several days, this bag is the perfect size and has the best features to keep everything dry, clean, and scratch-free. The boot compartment is lined with a sturdy, rip-stop material (think of a tarp) so the boots don't tear it up or leak melting snow out the seams. Plus, it's big, so even for larger men's boot sizes, I think this would work. The top pocket of the bag is roomy - no, huge! - to hold all of my layers, helmet, goggles, pants, coat, and even extra weekend clothes. The only thing Dakine could improve on with this one is to add a single small zip pocket on the outside for little things you need to stow, but don't want to lose in the depth of the main compartment.

Keep your gear scratch free!

After many years of packing multiple bags and hauling my boots separately, I finally picked up the Dakine Boot Locker. Now it's one bag for all my gear, including boots. The separate boot pocket keeps my snow covered boots away from the rest of my stuff, and it is easily cleaned out after returning home. The shoulder strap is a bonus by leaving hands free for skis and poles. The zippers and stitching are extremely durable. I expect to get many years of hard use out of this bag.

Five-star all the way!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bag is perfect for my needs in a nice, compact, easy to carry size. It easily holds all of the gear and clothing I need for a day (or even a week) on the slopes. As you can see from the photo my size-10 Technica boots fit perfectly in the "boot locker" bottom part of the bag. In the top I carry my helmet, gloves, goggles, jacket, undergarments, and pants. All with room to spare. Both compartments are lined with a heavy-duty, waterproof lining that keeps my dry stuff dry. Cleanup of the boot compartment is very easy. The quality of workmanship in this bag is exceptional and I fully expect it to be the last ski gear bag I ever buy. Go get one!

Has anyone used this as a carry-on on a flight?

I have the DLX Cargo 55L Backpack and used it as a carry-on just fine; however, am looking at this for a little bit more carrying capacity.. I've seen this bag in person and I don't think it would be a problem as a carry-on either as I've carried much larger duffle bags on before.

Besides the main compartments, are there any small pockets or sleeves to organize smaller things?

There are the two main compartments and one zippered accessory pocket.

Thanks Arthur. Where's the accessory pocket and how large is it?

Has anyone used this bag for a week or so vacation that wasn't for snowboarding specifically?

No, but it seems like it would work just fine especially being able to fit boots and a helmet so easily.

I'm trying to find a bag that fits two pairs of boots, any recommendations?

This bag will definitely fit two pairs of boots but depending on the size of your boots it won't leave you much room for anything else, maybe small items like base layers, gloves. I had fit a size 8 and size 5 snowboard boot with my helmet in the bag but didn't have much room for anything except a sweater or smaller items. If you're looking for a duffle type bag to fit both boots and other stuff, you might want to try this: http://www.backcountry.com/dakine-riders-duffle-bag-large-4880cu-in

This bag holds two pairs, it just gets really heavy. We still have room to stuff quite a lot of stuff. We put socks in the boots, the fill bag cavities with vests, hats etc.

Will this bag fit size 12 boot plus a knee brace along with helmet etc?

While 4200 cu. in. isn't the best description of bag size I can tell you that this product has interior dimensions of 20 x 15 x 14 inches. In addition to this the lower portion of the bag is designed specifically to hold snow sport boots. I would recommend measuring your gear, and using the dimensions you gather, to see how they will best fit inside of the bag.

without a doubt i would say yes. i have size 14 boots, helmet, pants, jacket, multiple pairs of gloves and goggles, multiple hats, and assorted crap. there is so much room in it, i find myself not cleaning it out often enough because everything fits. so now i have random crap like stickers, old lift tickets, and socks i don't wear in there.

Is this bag big enough to hold size 15 Men's ski boots?

Hey, Hard to say for sure, but its a good size boot box at 4200cu...I'd say it's likely.

I have 14s and they fit fine, so i would say yes.

will this bag hold size 14snowboard boots?

I measured a size 13 DC boot, and these were the measurements I found aprox: 14x6x14 for one boot. So based off of that you might be able to put them in this bag, but it definitely would be a tight fit.

My husband wants a bag that is big enough...

My husband wants a bag that is big enough to hold his boots and helmet as well as that of my 7 year old daughter. Would this bag fit the bill?

So all you want to hold is an adult helmet and boots and a childs helmet and boots? If so it would be a tight fit, but would work. If you want it to hold adult boots and an adult helmet and childs helmet then it would definitely work. The bag is surprisingly big.

Agree. Bag could handle adult boots in bottom compartment, and both helmets in upper. Kids' boots in upper would be a real stretch, probably not possible. If you do put helmets in, you'll definitely need to check this as checked baggage on the airlines. Won't fit in the overhead. I, for one, carry my boots as carry-on only. They're the most important gear in the locker.

Can you use this bag as a carry on for the plane? If not any recommendations? I don't trust my boots to the luggage handlers at the airlines.

My girlfriend uses one for that, she keeps a bunch of her gear in there. Definitely will work for flight travel. Personally I just strap my boots together and do it that way as a carry on.

Fully packed this would a little big to fit as a carry on. If you don't pack the top compartment you will be fine.

Not sure about all airlines.....but if you are checking skis with Continental they consider the boot bag to part of your ski bag, and charge just one fee for both. Your planks will take far more of a beating getting checked then your boots so if your checking skis/boards i'd just throw the boots below and not have to lug them around...just my 2 cents.

I've taken this bag on planes many times. Just don't pack the top compartment too full, and it's best to pack some clothes in the top because you usually have to squish it down a bit to fit in the overhead on the plane.
