    Waterproof and low-bulk.

    The Dakine Baron Gore-Tex Mitten is a team favorite, so you already know it'll hold up to everything you can dish out. The Gore-Tex waterproof breathable insert keeps moisture at bay, and the fit is improved thanks to Gore's Xtrafit technology, which improves dexterity, and knocks down the bulk. There's super-warm PrimaLoft 170g insulation, which keeps you roasting. The shell is a mix of leather and 4-way stretch softshell material, for hard wearing durability. The wool liner fights funky odors all season long, and the low-profile cuff easily tucks in under the cuff of your jacket.

    Great Ski Mitt

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    I love this mitt for skiing. The palm is on the thinner side so you get good feel on the grip of your ski pole. The wool blend liner holds up well and the warmth has a wide range of temps for staying comfortable. This is not an extreme cold mitt, but the open finger design does the trick. Great combo of leather for durability and warmth and Gortex for breathability. Easy on and off. No detached inner liner to get bunched up. I've spent more on lesser mitts. Found a winner here. I'm usually a Large and bought the large; fits perfect.

    Get's the job done.

      Nice mitts, feel and look like they are built tough. I only bring these out on super cold days and they keep my hands comfortable. My hands run real cold so to keep them comfortable I think it would keep most people pretty toasty. As far as dexterity A little too stiff to give these pups 5 stars. But overall they are keeping me going on the hills.

      not worth it

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

      Good product in terms of materials, I would give 5 stars cause of that, but the sizing is totally wrong;
      I usually wear medium size for Dakine gloves and mittens, for years, but this time, while my wrist fit perfectly in it, the fingers are floating into the glove, also the thumb is almost an inch away from the tip. Ive tried a small size, fingers and thumbs are fine but is so hard to stick the all hand in it.
      Also there is not a wrist cuff strap that would prevent the mitt to slide out of my hands all the time.
      I would expect more from a $90 mitts.

      seems warm so far

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

      I needed a new mitten or glove for cold Vermont ski days (below 15 degrees). So far, the Baron has done the job for me this season. Below 15 degrees and I add chemical hand warmers if I'm skiing more than a few hours without a break. Nice grip for the ski pole and comfortable lining without individual fingers inside which I prefer.

      I grabbed the XL, but probably should have chosen a Large. These run a bit bigger than other mittens I own.

      Unanswered Question

      Hi there. Can you tell me if these mitts have a glove lining inside eg to separate all the fingers out not just the thumb from the 4 fingers? I want a mitt where the fingers stay together if that makes sense. Cheers
