The trails are calling.
If rallying berms, sending jumps in the park, and hitting wallrides at max speed sounds like music to your ears, then you'd better prepare yourself accordingly with the Dakine Anthem Knee Pad. Featuring impact-absorbing 3D-molded CE-certified foam, this knee pad slips on and straps up with snug security and protects one of your most vulnerable body parts on hard-hitting trail rides.
Lateral and medial side padding bolster your coverage, while the pre-curved ergonomic patterning enhances the fit and overall range of motion. Adjustable thigh and calf straps customize your fit while silicone gripper elastic eliminates slippage, a closure system which, by the way, is all able to be put on and removed without taking off your shoes. Plus, the open back promotes cooling airflow for sweet relief on the ride up.

- Q & A
Not bad. Maybe some improvements.
Like the added protection of the bigger pad, and a big fan of the retention system that Dakine has gone with. The double velcro strap system ensures no slippage! The fit is interesting on initial slip on, but feels much much better once pedaling and not standing. Love that you don't have to pull your shoes to put them on.
However, the bottom of the pad towards the top of the shin bone has a flap which led to some major chaffing during hike a bikes, climbing, and descending after only an hour. Also, make sure to adjust the pad once pedaling since the patellar cup works so well.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
I currently run the Slayer, which is the slip-on version of this pad. I am very excited to see how these perform, especially with the slightly upgraded lateral protection!
A bit bulky
They are a bit bulky for a women's knee... at least mine at 5'3" I like the material and the protection they offer so I gave it an extra star for that.
What is the sizing like? I have 18 1/2 inch quads and want to order the right size!
