    Great compression, tough sizing

Review from Keri Schneider: Based on the reviews, I ordered both a small and medium. The small felt great but were definitely too short, and while the medium pair was definitely a bit bigger, it was still too short for me, and I had to keep pulling them up. I really wanted to like them, but ultimately I returned them.

    Almost perfect

I got these primarily to wear as a base layer for skiing to support my hips as I’ve had two major hip surgeries. As far as that goes, they work great. I’ve noticed a marked decrease in hip and knee pain, even if I just ski for a few hours. That being said, i wish the bottom cuffs were a little more flexible. It’s a huge struggle to roll the tights up so the bottoms aren’t tucked in my boots, and once they get up to my knees they cut in to my skin so badly it hurts after a while. That’s my only complaint though! I love the rainbow color way and I find they also are very supportive for my knees when I’m doing squats in the gym.

      Nice but already ripped

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'4"

Based on my height and weight, I got the women's version of these tights as a small in men's wouldn't fit because of the height. The women's small was pretty tight as these are supposed to be. I also have a larger butt, so I found these tights in a small didn't stay up around the waist. Because of the pants sliding off my waist, the tights don't stay in the correct spot for my knees.

I think if much of your weight/muscle are in your butt and thighs like it is for me, going up a size might feel better. I have yet to try a larger size, but I think a small might the upper limit for someone of my height/weight/body type. Also if you'd like less resistance while exercising a larger size might be better. Just make sure your height falls in the acceptable range or you also might have trouble getting the tights to cross your knees where they're supposed to.

The only issue I have with these tights is that after trying them on and wearing them around the house for 10 minutes, the stitching already started coming apart in one of the inside seams of the upper thigh. As well, wearing them for a hike in the white mountain national forest under a pair of Outdoor Research Cirque Pants caused the fabric and seams of the right knee to pill and tear because of some kind of friction it seems, and didn't protect the butt from a tear while the pants showed no wear. So I have questions about the durability with this pair already falling apart within one use while under another pair of pants.

      Starry Print- appear see through

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: medium
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 145lbs

I love the fit of these pants and love the print design. When I put them on the parts that do not have the compression strips appear darker then the single layer material. Since the inside of the pants is white when material is stretched it gives the appearance that the pants are see through. The yare not see through but they appear to be and made me uncomfortable. And for this much money I didn't think I would be comfortable wearing them out in public. I returned them. Wanted to love them. perfect fit.

      Best compression tights

I've had the black with rainbow stitches for 2.5 years now. I have worn them many many times and in pretty rugged conditions (Spartan Races). The only sign of wear I see right now is a little part of the stitching around my left knee is pulled and I have 2 little holes on my right knee which I will be stitching up. These are definitely worth the money and I just actually just bought the constellation ones!

      Legs tired too easily

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

These tights fit well and went on relatively easy. However, I notice my legs tiring more quickly while wearing them. I've worn them quite a few times for quite a few running miles. My legs feel like they have to pull against the tights and end up getting quite worn out. The knee bands didn't seem to stay in place around my knee. I did notice, however, that I wasn't as sore after the runs compared to if I wasn't wearing the tights. Unfortunately they aren't worth fighting against while running. Now, also unfortunate, Backcountry does not accept the returns agreement from when the product was purchased.

      Wont do anything without them

I blew out my knees in high school and these are the only thing that keep me out of a brace skiing (Nordic and Alpine - I'd recommend the insulated version of them as a great high impact baselayer) They fit tight. I like that a lot because it makes my knees feel more secure. I could have easily fit into the Medium as well though. being 5'9 the size small is a couple inches short, but I like that too, so there aren't too many layers over my ankles in ski boots.

      Perfect for Sunday Morning Breakfast

Originally bought these for running, I have super weak knees! They were AWESOME, gave a lot of support. They were a little too warm for me to run in.

I am 5'6 about 160 lbs, I got a large and it fits pretty good. They are a tiny bit long but I think a medium would be too small.

I have since replaced these with a 3/4 length, so the full length is perfect for going to Sunday Breakfast

These tights are amazing. I can't say enough good things about them. I'm 5'4, 135, athletic and swear by the smalls. The concept of compression tights is that they should fit tightly and allow for better muscle performance during activity, and a decrease in muscle fatigue after activity. I was skeptical at first, but I'm now a loyal cw-x fan and you'll never see me skiing without them on. I wear the insulator stabilyx when it's super cold out, and use the regular for days when it's not as nippy. A must have piece of gear for your arsenal. Oh, did I forget to mention they're wicked cute?

      Love these, always get compliments

I wear Stabilyx tights for Pilates class and other exercise too. I love the feeling of support. My legs don't tire easily when I wear them. I wear an insulated pair for skiing. They are beautiful and unique-looking and I often get compliments about them. The chart suggests I wear a small, but I think the medium is most comfortable for me. I am 5'4 and 130 lbs.

      New to running gear

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I am new to the running world, but I wanted to get some nice tights for my long runs. After checking out the running gear on the BC run guide, I started looking at CW-X tights as it seemed that they were the most popular. I was unsure about the whole compression thing at first, but wanted to give it a try. I totally dig them! No more pulling up/pulling down/re-situating my pants while I'm running (the most annoying thing in the world). These stay in place at all times, and make my legs feel strong. The size chart attached to this pant is for MEN'S for some reason, so I didn't follow it. My dimensions would've put me in an XS, but I think a Small is just fine. I'm 5'4, 110lbs and I think they fit great!

I just recently bought these tights and I am very impressed. I have worn them a couple of times! They do exactly what they say and hold everything in place. Even while trail running. I used them on a run in 19 degree weather in the snow, and while they did not keep me super warm, the run was not unbearable. If ran in such weather all the time I think I would want to also invest in the insulator version.

I was worried like most about the fit. I am 5'8" and 135lbs. I ordered a medium and they fit great. If you are looking for a tighter fit with more compression then a small would be the best bet.

All around I have found no problems or complaints about these tights!

      Overall: pretty good

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

These are unlike any other tight I've worn. The compression cradles your legs and not only helps support them but makes you feel warm when you run. The waist is a little uncomfortable when doing aerobic activities, but doesn't bother me when I'm vertical and running.

      Awesome sauce

My wife loves these for chilly weather. Surprise gift bc she was having knee problems after a marathon. She likes them so much she wears them as around town pants! Too hot for summer running though.

Excellent for ITB and runner's knee

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have suffered from ITBS and runner's knee for years; I am older and didn't strength train when I was young, so I have weak muscles. I am doing the stretches and strengthening regularly but it will not make up for the years I didn't strength train and this is where these tights come in. If I power-walk without these tights, I have to wear a knee sleeve in order to walk comfortably and pain-free. These tights are like magic....I feel so comfortable yet strong in them and today beat my own record of power-walking 1 mile in 14.2 minutes. As far as I am concerned, these tights work for me and my problem and they have been a valuable investment. Highly recommended.

        LOVE THEM!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I decided to splurge on these tights as I began to train for a half marathon. They are awesome! I am 5'10" and approximately 140lbs and the Medium fit perfectly. My legs are less fatigued after long runs and I love the abdominal support panel - for me, it encourages better posture. I had such a great experience with these that I bought the 3/4 capri cw-x tights as well. Can't wait to try them out cycling!

        Holy Compression!

I finally decide to splurge on a pair of these tights as I train for the Boston Marathon. I do not fit into a box on the size chart, being 5'4" and approx 180. I consulted with the Backcountry experts who suggest the medium as my size large running tights slide down as I run. Upon receiving the medium, I was confused at how I'd get these suckers on, particularly after my 5'2" 100lb co-worker was confused at how she'd get them on. Thankful, they do stretch enough to get them on and then compresses everything. Literally holds everything in. I kind of want to get a pair to wear everyday as a base layer because my butt looks nice and it flattens my stomach. I find them to be very comfortable, the x on the knees takes a little work to get just right, but not a deal breaker. Only wish there was a zip pocket for gummies on my long runs.

          Very disappointing. ;-(

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been wanting to buy these tights for YEARS and I finally splurged on them when I started having some knee issues and knowing I'd be moving to cooler weather soon. I am 5'7" and 180 lbs. The Large fit, sort of. They fit for my weight, but when the x on the knees were in the right place, then I couldn't pull the tights all the way up, and the crotch area hung down enough to run my legs and were very uncomfortable to wear. The first time I wore them, I pulled them all the way up, but the x at the knees were too high up, and caused my knee caps to click, which also didn't work. I was also disappointed in how they weren't very warm. I was running in 35-45 degree temps and my butt was still cold, so I knew they wouldn't work when I moved to colder weather. I am glad I tried them because I thought these would be so awesome. I am going to try basic compression socks instead.

          Awesome Tights

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My wife purchased these tights for the winters in Utah. She loves them and says they are so comfortable that it feels like she is not wearing pants at all. She recommends them highly.

          Hi there,

We do have some more ordered to come in! Unfortunately though, we do not have an exact arrival date. I would recommend checking back in every week or so, and they should be available for purchase- hopefully sooner rather than later!
