Finally Warm

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small
  • Height: 5'5"
  • Weight: 120lbs

Bought these tights to stay warm while running when it's cold out, not necessarily for the muscle support. My thighs would usually freeze but are just fine when wearing these when the temps are in the teens. They do fit tight as everyone says but they are supposed to since they are compression. I used the size chart and it worked out just fine.

"tight" tights

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small
  • Height: 5'4"
  • Weight: 120lbs

I'm 5'4"ish and around 120 lbs and the small fits me. The tights take a bit longer to get on. I find it most effective to sit down and put each leg in up to the knee, then stand up and pull up the rest up and adjust the seams to fall where they're supposed to. I don't see any difference in the way my muscles feel during or after my runs, but I do like the feel of the compression as I find them to be no more than just really tight tights than to provide actual muscle support. I got rid of the drawstring as it's thick and flat and I don't think anyone would actually use it to cinch the waist any tighter than it already fits.

Surprisingly effective

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: S
  • Height: 5'4"
  • Weight: 125lbs

It fits very snug but I got used to it very quickly. I followed the chart they provided for the size and it was appropriate. The first day I was doubtful but it did stretch a bit the second time onward.
As for its effectiveness: These tights do appear to help stabilize my left knee and prevent further injury. Since I've started wearing these tights, I have also not felt the soreness around the quads and calves as much as I used to. And I used to have a hard time going down the stairs the day after a long run, but now it seems to be less of a problem.
I believe the tights don't necessarly solve my existing running flaws, but it sure helps me by letting me recover much faster. This way I am able to keep training daily without stopping.

Had to go up a size

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

Originally purchased the Insulator tights in medium, but I could not get them on! I am normally not a large in pants. The large is much better. I can get them on with a little work and there is still enough compression to do their job. Great for winter running, although it's -20 today, so I think I'll wait a few days before wearing them again!!

I am on the lower range of Med. and I break...

I am on the lower range of Med. and I break out in a sweat getting these on. Is that standard for the support? Would the large simply be easier to get on but less supportive? Or are these less stretchy because they are thermal?

Shouldn't be that hard to get on. They are not stretchy no, they are webbing, that is the CW-X tight compression you pay for...and should be super-snug, but you are also paying top dollar because Cw-X fits on your bod in 20 seconds without drama . My guess is large would fit better
