    Eva All-Foam Snowshoe

A throwback to the classic snowshoe design, the Crescent Moon Eva All-Foam Snowshoe combines a classic design with modern materials. A flexible EVA rocker platform bends naturally with your foot, giving you a feeling akin to your favorite running sneakers. The hook-and-loop binding is easy to put on almost any shoe, and the teardrop shape offers a natural strip so you aren't tripping over your feet while you're hiking in the snow. Since they are made with foam, the snowshoes also insulate your feet from the cold. Multiple cleats and tire-like lugs are used to keep you from slipping on icy, packed-out snowshoe trails, and this year Crescent Moon added Icespikes for even better traction.

    First snowshoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'd never used snowshoes before and I don't think these are the traditional snowshoe most people picture. I think it's what people 10 years from now might picture as the quintessential snowshoe though

The Dual Density foam surprised me, but the bindings wer fast and intuitive. Almost like Velcro and they gave me no trouble. It was almost seamless to start walking. It felt natural and the flexible rotation and rocker shape made the transition simple. No learning curve whatsoever. They felt awfully light as well. I did some research and these are certainly some of the mos quiet and lightweight models around.

The traction is impressive as well. I even tried running in these things with no trouble at all. Up and down hills - no problem. I'm a snowshoe convert!

    Super Innovative and fun!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As a lover of snowshoeing and design, I have been following the development of this snowshoe for about a year. The Crescent Moon EVA has a very different look and construction compared to a traditional metal or plastic snowshoe, and the binding is greatly simplified. Aside from the cool design, when I found out that their snowshoes were over ½ lb lighter than my current favorites, I couldn’t wait to give them a try!

Crescent Moon sent me a pair of Red EVA’s to test and then generously loaned us 6 pair for a Women’s Outdoor Retreat! I appreciate their openness to feedback and continual improvements on their innovative design.

In a period of two weeks, I tested the Crescent Moon EVA Snowshoes for a total of 14 hours and approximately18-20 miles in the following conditions:

Packed, powder and deep snow, a hilly mix of conditions and on a frozen lake

    Strengths

    • Lightweight

    • Quiet

    • Good grip in multiple conditions

    • Comfortable cushion

    • Low profile crampon, making road or ice walking easier.

    • Binding collapses making it easy to strap onto a pack

    • Velcro/hook and loop binding is simple to use and doesn’t loosen with time.

    • Great design and aesthetic

    • Warmer feet due to insulation. (especially in sub zero conditions)

    Opportunities

    • The heel toe angle is slightly reduced compared to an open/hinge traditional style and may use muscles you aren’t used to using. I found them to work best with a low shoe or ankle high boot vs a taller boot for long hikes.

Overall I thought the EVA was a natural switch from my usual snowshoes and my friends enjoyed them, giving good feedback as well. I like that they are fun without sacrificing performance and would recommend them for a beginner, moderate user or anyone who is looking for a multipurpose shoe.

    Happy Trails!

    Super Innovative and fun!

    Lightweight, a little flimsy

First off, the pros: these are super lightweight and easy to use. After a few minutes of having them on my feet, I pretty much forgot I was even wearing snowshoes. The velcro straps make putting these on and adjusting them to your boot super easy.

The Cons: I found these to be super flimsy, which did not fair well on any substantial uphill pitch I encountered. I also found the float to be a bit lacking in deep snow. However, disclaimer to that -- after using them in powder I realized they are more intended for a trail that has already been packed down, and for snowshoe running. For that, I'm assuming they work great as all the other reviews have stated.

I also feel like these would be a great snowshoe to introduce someone new to the activity, due to the extremely light weight and ease of use.

      Innovation Rocks

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have 2 pair of (CM 12's) running snowshoes and a pair of (Flex Alps) mountaineering ones. I had to buy these when I saw them as they are definitely a game-changer for fast running on packed trails. (I have also used them backcountry with a pack in a pinch.) Couldn't be happier and think they are definetly faster to run with, except for steep uphills. It's obvious they create less friction than cleats and are much easier on the gait then a floppy hinge. Mark my words, these will make all other racing snowshoes obsolete in 2 years.

      Good

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have only gone snowshoeing once in my lifetime. But these snowshoes made the experience simple and enjoyable. They served their intended purpose and gave me the confidence to handle terrain that would have been unwieldy and even treacherous, otherwise.

      EVA for wellness!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love the EVA snowshoe. It's firm but flexible. They are easy on, easy off. Light weight, fast and quiet. The hook and strap binding makes it easy for anyone to use, no matter shoe size. We've made the choice to use the EVA as our snowshoes of choice for our outdoor recreational therapy programs @4Winds.farm and everyone loves them. I've heard over and over again from clients when they see the EVA "wow, snowshoes have come a long way." but the best is when I hear them say "I love snowshoeing!"

      All About Eva

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are the lightest, fastest most user-friendly snowshoes I have ever tried. They are narrower than my previous snowshoes and the width makes for an easy gait. The curved ends were ideal for picking up the pace and doing a little running. The super strong hook and strap bindings are also excellent. They are super easy to get on and adjust and there were no issues during use. The hard plastic cleats gripped the snow well and I traveled seamlessly down hills and over icier spots. I'm completely crazy about Eva!

      Amazing snowshoe!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I took the Eva’s out on Boreas Pass.  Conditions were a mix of ice, packed snow and deep snow.  These snowshoes were awesome and the binding was really easy to adjust to my boot and take off in very cold conditions.  An overall amazing snowshoe!

      All-fun and no-hassle snowshoeing

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These snowshoes are unlike anything I've seen in stores — they feel like a regular running shoe that lets you float on a snow cover. They're super easy to strap on and forget about... no noise, no clanking, no hinges, just an extension of your foot. Got them for myself&girlfriend and love using them in the woods behind our house

      All-fun and no-hassle snowshoeing

the Eva snowshoe is like no other shoe..

a day of snowshoeing at the top of Hoosier Pass after 18" of snow fall and a beautiful Breckenridge day. It's the short story of how Eva got started and what it is. take a look at how maneuverable it is . on flat stuff, you can really stretch out, on deep stuff it still does better than aluminum shoes of the same size.
