Its nice having a new pair of cleats! They do what they are supposed to and do it well. If you are thinking about getting a new pair because yours are chewed up, its definitely worth doing

A burly cleat that keep your foot secure, while still providing a little float comfort and control in loose/technical terrain.

Cleats
Work well, no issues, get some crank brothers shields if you're using on carbon soled shoes.

Change your cleats!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I have been really pleased with my Mallet DH's for years. I find that I forget about my cleats. It's easy to become complacent with old worn out cleats, and not really notice how much performance you're missing out on. I'm always surprised how much more secure the connections between shoes and pedals is when I throw on new cleats. Long story short, don't neglect your cleats!

Chances are if you're reading this, you just want to validate what a great purchase you made because we all know there are people who use Crank bro cleats and there are people who don't. We all know they're amazing, sure they wear out over time but pickup a new set cheap and you're good to go.

A new pair of cleats is an upgrade that is often overlooked and forgotten, but for $20 bucks it’s a worthwhile upgrade every season. I’ve got a pair of mallets that these work well on. The 15-20 degrees of float gives you freedom of movement prior to releasing to tweak out some whips and scubs, so you can flow while staying clipped in.

Used these with both the Mallet 3 and Mallet DH pedals. Easy to install and they seem to last as long as other cleats. I really like the ability to rotate for more or less float.

They're cleats...
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Been using Crank Brothers pedals for many years, and isn't my first set I have had to replace. These cleats are like all the others and offer a great amount of float (I like), and still remain really durable. What is always nice is how new cleats really engage the pedal and offer better feedback when compared to "older" more worn out cleats. If in doubt, replace them.

Durable Cleats
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Clearly, if you use Crank Bros. Candy pedals you will need this cleat. Cleats do wear out and performance will suffer in the instances of premature cleat disengagement and potentially "rocking" of the interface. A new cleat will improve engagement/disengagement and add to an overall better experience on the bike. These do just that for you.

Essentials
I'm relatively new to the clipless way of life, but these cleats along with the Crank Bros Candy 1's give me a ton of confidence. Although I find them easy to get in and out of, they still have a bomber hold without making me feel too locked in.

Are these that durable? I would think brass would be heavier and weaker than steel would be. I suppose stronger than aluminum?

Your cleat has to be softer than your pedal to ensure that the cleats wears down instead of your pedal. As for weight, each cleat weighs 15 grams, which is the same as about 6 pennies. So, probably not a big weight concern there. ;)
