The Crank Brothers Mallet E 11 Pedals may share naming conventions with its beefed out, DH shredding Mallet siblings, the E 11 is enduro through and through. Blending a lightweight titanium body, adjustable pins, and a smaller, lighter platform than the original Mallet, these pedals are race-bred and waiting for you to clip in and attack the next run.
The Mallet E 11 provides secure purchase for your foot courtesy of its concave platform, with the textured aluminum bbody giving you room to fine-tune the placement of your foot on the pedal. This design also ensures you have a wide range of grip and reduces miscues when you're clipping in and out, while the chamfered edges help cut down harsh jolts from pedal strikes that throw off your cadence.
Anticipating the range of weather and trail conditions these pedals will see throughout their lifetime, Crank Brothers adds its Enduro cartridge bearings, Igus bushings, and reinforcement in the form of an external seal to maintain debris-free smoothness over time. A mud-shedding four-sided entry, six adjustable pins, and customizable float and release angles round out this top-tier addition to the Mallet family.

- I've put it through the wringer
If you clip in, hands down looking at the best pedal on the market. I'm a rider that switches clips/flats throughout the season and for race days or long epics this is my go to pedal. I love the added platform the Mallet Es give but hate the weight so the 11s are a happy compromise and I've put these through everything from sloppy conditions to huck to flats and they keep delivering flawlessly. The platform allows you to unclip when descending into something gnarly and still have great bike control with the adjustable pins. Crank Brothers also gives you a cleat shim which works great for recessed shoes like my Five Ten Kestrels. The only disadvantage to CB is they will release when you strike them on a rock perfectly but they are so easy to get back in (all you do is pedal) it's never been a problem although that's one thing haters like to highlight. I tried these after a pair of Shimano's didn't let me go on an OTB and hyper-extended my knee. I've never had a crash on Mallets that didn't let me go which only adds to your confidence. I ride these with Crank Brother's zero float cleats which allows them to feel even more like flats. Did I mention they are completely rebuildable which makes this the last pedal you'll ever buy. Pick these or the standard Mallet Es up, you won't be disappointed.
