    Let the snowy commutes begin.

Frigid commutes through sleet and snow just got easier with the Craft Men's X-Over Bike Pants. With cozy fabrics and windproof, waterproof paneling, these pants will keep you warm and dry through the most inclement of weather.

Made from breathable material, these pants boast brushed internal warmth and strategically placed windproof and waterproof panels for a perfect fit that keeps you warm and dry in any weather. Reflective elements add a hint of modern styling and increased visibility to motorists and other road users during early morning and evening commutes. For the little details, Craft uses a hook-and-loop adjuster at the waist for a customized fit and side zippers at the ankles for easy removal.

    Waterproof?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this pant over my regular dress pant on a daily basis as a bike commuter throughout the winter. It is great for keeping me warm and dry under "normal" conditions. BUT, when it gets extremely wet from either rain or snow I have found the waterproofing to be pretty marginal. I get wet underneath after 10-12 minutes. I am a fan of the pant but not in wet harsh conditions. Waist is a bit snug as stated in other reviews but a good product for cold dry conditions.

Nice concept but runs a little long

I liked the concept and would have kept these, but you really need 32" plus inseam. The pants are supposed to "end" just below the knee then the tights continue down to the ankle. If you have less than 32 inseam, the pant will end more around the high shin area which makes it look a bit awkward. Otherwise the Medium fit my 32 inch waist just fine.

      Skinny fit

First wear... I bought both medium and large sizes for comparison as I tend to be in between. Upon squeezing into the large I had to bend and squat to check the movement as I considered sizing up to XL for some extra room. That would’ve been a mistake. I wear about 33-34 waist and these are just right there. However if you plan to wear these for biking and have cyclist thighs (about 24.5” around), these are a bit tight. That said, I use them for MTB and I would still wear them out to a brewery after the ride. Also, the waistband has comfortable velcro adjusters.

        Better for biking

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got these for nordic skiing because my wife has a pair of Crafts that work very well for her. However, these are more tuned towards biking than skiing than hers. These have different (stiffer) material in the seat and crotch than hers, but they are plenty warm enough to ski in on the coldest days.

        Not what I was expecting..

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size

Comfortable pants with interesting design....They are insulated knee up, knee down is just windproof fabric which fits like tights, with zippers close to ankles. So these pants! end at your knees, like shorts, and then there are tights attached to the shorts! It's hard to tell from that photo.

Warm? Not really, thighs are fine but shins have no insulation, just wind/water barrier. I would not wear these without a serious base layer if it is less than 50 F outside.

Rain? I haven't been under a serious downpour with these... From what I have seen so far, these pants will get you thru unexpected showers and all... But if the forecast shows rain rain and rain, I reckon the insulation on top of the thigh areas would eventually get wet and heavy..

Pockets? I almost forgot, only one! Seriously, just one small mash pocket.... and 2 zip-up air vents... Ugh!

Pros? very comfortable with cycling shorts under, more breathable than a regular windproof pant, tights around ankle means pants! don't get in the way of chain....

I guess X-over was a hint for pants/shorts/tights design...They are somehow comfortable in the 45-65 Fah. and fit well to your body overall.

A stylish bottom for cold/mild rides

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size

I got this pair to ride in the incoming Winter for commuting duties. I have a pair of fleeced spandex Castelli bottoms BUT, I felt it was too sporty to be used for commuting and without pockets, it was a deal breaker.
What I noticed about these pair of pants is the cut....my waist which is bulging fits 30-31 jeans rather well and I got this one within the fit. It is a small which stated it would be a 32. I fit it nicely but there is not much more room left.
The small I got is just ideal for my waist but the overall cut from the back to the bottom is well cut, comfortable, not loose but I would call it roomy.
The zippered pocket barely fits my wallet meaning that my key

needs to ride on the back pocket of riding jersey.

Moreover the claim of being waterproof, it is just a claim. The first downpour I used them for, saw at least 1" within 2 hours. Within the first 30 minutes of this ride, the pants got progressively wet. Meaning that their claim as just that, a claim.

Overall the cut is nice and the design is great but waterproof it is not.
Great for temperatures between 60 and below, anything above it will overheat. I am looking forward using them for sub 40 days. My impression is that they will be great.
