With spring on the way we finally(?) had an 18 degree morning when I could test these out. I’ve been on the hunt for THE warmest running tights and as someone whose body temperature runs cold, most warm tights haven’t been warm enough. These appear durable and well made. However... my main issue is the padded fabric. I was expecting this to be an extra layer sewn on top. It is not, and is instead an inserted piece of fabric with a smooth backing as opposed to fleece. When I first tried them on I’d say they felt pretty comfortable but did notice feeling the seams and didn’t find the back of the padded fabric particularly nice. It’s not that it’s bad but is just... not soft and stretchy like fleece. But my main issue after finally running in them was this: even though my legs felt slightly warmer than when I’ve worn my other tights, I also started sweating underneath that padded fabric and there’s nothing to absorb and wick the sweat away from the thighs. So I ended up with cold, sweaty thighs that were damp to the touch and since the padded fabric goes passed the knees I could feel my knees dripping sweat as well. The only way these could possibly work is with a thin wool base layer under. Disappointed because these were so expensive!
