    Winter cycling essential.

We don't think we've made our appreciation for Craft baselayers a secret here at Competitive. The Swedish company understands being active in the cold, and it believes heavily in cold weather comfort starting from the layer closest to the skin. If you're planning on riding through the winter, we'd recommend picking up a Craft baselayer to see you through—or a few, if you're averse to doing laundry. The Men's Long-Sleeve Active Extreme 2.0 CN Baselayer makes an incredibly versatile choice.

Crafted with a polyester body in a channel knit, the Active Extreme 2.0 comes with accent panels in a polyester and elastane blend, meant to further enhance the baselayer's ability to wick moisture away from your skin. While you're working hard under a jacket, the Active Extreme will loyally ferry sweat to the surface where it can evaporate, helping you avoid the unpleasant sensation of sweating under a jacket in the cold.

    • An efficient baselayer that prepares you for winter riding
    • Form-fitting cut allows rapid moisture transfer
    • Channel knit creates layer of warm air next to skin
    • Stretchy, breathable fabric keeps you warm and dry

    Great baselayer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 185lbs

After reading some of the reviews, I decided to downsize from large to medium, and I am happy. I have used it on various rides, from my 1 hour commute to >100 miles in dreadful condition. It does what it is supposed to do very well. Despite the lack of bulk, it keeps your core dry and warm. On my commute, I usually pair it with another mid layer and a wind proof jacket (less effort, less heat). On long hard rides, just the craft and a jacket.
As a bonus, I bought these when they were on sale for ~45$ and for that kind of money, there is no better baselayer

    Provides excellent moisture management

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 190lbs

The material is a light channeled weave of coolmax fabric. It is stretchy and form fitting. It provides warmth in cool weather (down to 45 F) and doesn't overheat in warmer temps (up to 70 F). Perfect for rides in the 43 to 65 F range, especially if you ride hills where moisture management is important for comfort. The garment is cut long - so it won't leave a gap at your wrist, and stays tucked nicely into your gloves and bibs. It has a high neck which keeps warmth in on when the temps are cooler. Perfect for Santa Cruz mountain and coastal rides in Spring, Fall, most of Winter, and early Summer..

    Yeah it's long

I finally replaced my old Craft baselayers (the original Active Extreme) with the 2.0 (one white and one in that awesome high vis yellow). Craft lengthened the arms & body by several inches and made the armpits vent better, which I like since I found the old cut to be too short. They do baselayer stuff and fit me better, 10/10 would recommend.

Good fabric, design, and make; odd fit.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got two of these for winter training and outdoor riding, as well as base layer for skiing. My comments are first reactions — nothing more — but since I am surprised by the fit, I thought it might help others to post now. The fabric — CoolMax Pro according to a stamp on the shirts — feels good, both in the hand and on the body. the neck and cuffs are comfortable to put on and wear. The fit, however, is _very_ long — longer than even a size "Long" might be. I have long arms, and the arms are still too long. The hem of the main part is at my thighs. If you buy your clothes "long", it will be OK. If you don't, it is likely to be too long.

I have one additional complaint: prominent on the collar, in front, is the name of the manufacturer. For the price, a monogram might be offered. I prefer my garments without text. If Craft were giving them away, perhaps some might wear them and advertise for Craft. I won't.
