Competition Tubular Tire

The Continental Competition tires are hand-sewn in Germany and feature a three-ply construction for the ultimate in durability. The threads per square inch come in at 180, and they can be inflated to as high as 170psi. In addition to all those threads, the tire employs Continental’s Vectran technology, a liquid crystal polymer, to minimize punctures and prevent the dreaded walk of shame. If you’re wondering how the Competition will hold the corners in your next crit, well, the rubber contains a silica compound to grip even the slickest road surfaces.
