It does the job keeps you dry. Not insulated it’s just a good basic rain jacket. Fits slightly bigger . I guess so you can put it over layers if you need to. I purchased a Large.

Like most Columbia jackets it runs large so I always size down. The jacket is fitted but leaves plenty of room for layering. The waterproofing is great for the price point. After some tough use this jacket will require maintenance and you will need to apply spray on repellant. I would consider this the best budget rain jacket I've purchased. This jacket is very light weight and breathes fairly well for a rain jacket.

So far, I love this jacket. I purchased a medium and it fits as expected. It allows me to wear an insulating layer underneath without feeling stuffy. If you're looking to layer up for much colder weather I would recommend a size larger than your normal fit. I've walked through at least three rainstorms of varying intensity and have yet to get wet in this jacket. My only complaint is the zipper. It has separated at the bottom stop at least twice; however, it was easily corrected by unzipping and re-zipping the jacket. I would definitely recommend this product.

I haven't really used it yet, but I have tried it on. I got this as an outer shell for a trip coming up. I was looking for waterproof and affordable, and this hit the nail on the head. It looks good, feels good, and I believe I will be able to use this fishing here in FL as well, although it might be a little hot. The fit is just right...not too loose and not too tight. I'll be able to layer it no problem. Should get a lot of use out of this.

Solid rain jacket

I like this jacket. Fits right, not overly breathable but it’s a tradeoff for the waterproof feature. Overall, exactly as advertised and looks nice.

I'm 6' 5" and generally wear 42 size jackets. With that in mind, I purchased the Large yellow version of this jacket. At first the jacket felt a bit too large for my frame, but once added a couple of layers underneath (how I'd actually wear this in the wild), it felt much better. Still a little loose, but I'd rather have that than it being too tight and constricting. Quality of the jacket seems nice. It's lightweight, simple, nothing to complain about. A NOTE ABOUT THE YELLOW - the jacket isn't quite as yellow as the images here depict. IRL it has a bit more orange in it for a tone that's kind of close to mustard. I like it, but if you're looking for a bright canary / banana yellow, this ain't it.

I recently bought this jacket for my son because he won't leave mine alone! This jacket is completely awesome! It fits perfect, breathes very well and is about as water "resistant" as you could possibly hope or expect it to be. The mesh liner really sets this jacket apart. The versatility of this jacket is really understated. I use this jacket for backcountry touring because it works so effectively to manage my temperature while skinning up for some fresh turns. I really highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a light weight, comfortable, breathable yet waterproof outer layer. It even has the feel of a mid '90's throwback ski parka when you have it on. Maybe it's the nostalgia of that image talking but I might buy another one again just in case mine wears out!

Does this jacket also keep you warm?

Hey Ken, This is just a rain shell so it will not provide insulation. However with proper layering underneath it is a great jacket for winter weather as it will keep you dry.

What is the difference between columbia...

What is the difference between columbia watertight and watertight 2 jackets (if any) other than the pockets?

Amanda, There are very few differences between the Columbia Watertight and Watertight II Jackets. Primarily it is simply the next model year with new colorways, however, there are some differences in the pocket arrangement in the new model and a slight difference in length (the original Watertight has a center back length of 30" while the Watertight II is 29"). Both jackets employ Columbia's Omni-Tech waterproof-breathable membrane, both have drawcord cinching on the hem, and both have an adjustable storm hood. When ordering, keep in mind that this jacket does size fairly large and most people in their reviews recommend sizing down from their typical jacket size.

How much does this jacket weigh in large?...

How much does this jacket weigh in large? I am going backpacking and weight is a HUGE factor in my decision.

according to Columbia.com it weighs 17 oz http://www.columbia.com/Men%27s-Watertight%E2%84%A2-Jacket/RM2135,default,pd.html

Hello David, I can't find the weight anywhere. Adam's link is for the older version. None of Columbia's three descriptions for the new Watertight II says how much it weighs, in any size: http://www.columbia.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Columbia_US-Site/default/Search-Show?q=watertight+ii&Submit=Go Probably best to look at other jackets if weight is the primary thing for you ~ ~
