Awesome River Shirt!
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Medium
- Height: 5'8"
- Weight: 180lbs
This is my second Columbia Silver Ridge Lite Shirt (I bought the long sleeve version last summer) and I can't think of a better shirt for being on the river, in the desert, or in my case both. I wore this for most of a five day trip on the Green River down Desolation Canyon in the arid desert in Utah. The fabric is super lightweight and allows the wind to breeze right through it to cool you down. It was in the neighborhood of 100 degrees for entire trip, so I would often dunk the shirt in the water and put it back on for a swamp cooler like effect that would keep me cool for the next half an hour to an hour until the water evaporated and was bone dry and I'd dunk it again. The fabric is also UPF 40 protected, so this shirt gives you great sun protection as well especially on the back of the neck where the collar gives you some additional coverage. Additionally, it's just a clean looking shirt that you could wear to a BBQ on a hot summer day without sweating bullets. It would also be a great fishing shirt.
I am normally on the border between a Medium and a Large in most shirts. This shirt runs slightly large, I actually could have sized down to a small, but I ended up going with the Medium which had a pretty relaxed fit for me.
lots of wrinkles
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The material of this shirt is prone to wrinkles and due to the high-tech/expensive nature of the material, it's kind of intimidating to iron. But if you have a steamer you are good to go.
