    Super comfortable

I was nervous to order shoes online without trying them on since sizing can be so variable between brands. I had such a great experience with a gear head while returning an item in the past I figured why not? Worst case I’d exchange them for another size. But there was no need. These shoes were true to size and are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever hiked in! I got them at a great price, with free 2day shipping and I knew I had the outstanding customer support that comes with every Backcountry purchase if they didn’t fit. I paired that with my $10 off for referring a buddy and this turned out to be a dream transaction! Thank you Backcountry!

      Love them.

These are very nice shoes they fit my foot well and they are comfortable. They are also very water proof, I coach Water Polo and I would wear them to practice with water always getting on them, they keep my feet dry.

      Bought a second pair

I wore the first pair almost daily for over a year, and I liked them so much i bough another pair when they wore out.

He has been wearing these shoes non stop since they came. He says the fit is a little tight but other than that they are very grippy and his feet dont hurt after a 10hr work day. one of the best pair of shoes hes owned.

This is my first pair of hiking shoes. Was looking for something simple that would help me hike Cerro Chirripo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerro_Chirrip%C3%B3). But soon became my preferred shoes for regular hikes.

I'm surprised by how comfortable these are! No blisters whatsoever after a ~8 hour walk.

Also, these are solid shoes! I stepped over sharp rocks and wood chunks without any trouble.

One thing to keep in mind though, is that since these are waterproof, it goes both ways. If water gets in the shoe for any reason, it won't come out! You have to take the shoes off and let them dry before using again or you end up with damp feet all the way.

      Shocked by the fit!

We have never been a huge hiking shoe kind of family but we needed something for a trip we had planned to WA. I ordered these for my husband to try out before we left on the trip. He LOVED them! He said that they did not have the long break in time that he had issues with on other brands. So, I of course bought the women's version of this shoe.... he was so spot on. They are so easy to wear and worked perfect on our daily hikes! They are the right price and great fit plus don't look too hikery... you know dorky! Must get if you are looking for easy and cozy!

Would these shoes be considered a neutral sole?

      Best Answer

Compared to a neutral sole, I think these have a little more support. They are a hiking shoe, and a neutral sole would make you feel every little rock you step on. It will feel close to a neutral sole, but with a little added support
