Poofy inside, rock-hard outside.
The Columbia Men's Peakfreak Venture Mid Waterproof Omni-Heat Boots feel like clouds on your feet from the city to the mountain. Since they’re made with a mesh and leather upper with a waterproof membrane, they’re breathable enough to prevent clamminess while staying strong against winter weather. The synthetic insulation hugs your feet softly for warmth as you hike and the Omni-Heat Thermal Reflective lining prepares you for anything the city throws at you. And with a lace closure, TechLite (EVA) midsole, and Omni-Grip rubber sole, your feet are prepared for every winter.

Not what I expected
I do hiking and scrambling in the Olympic Mountains. I ordered these boots thinking that is what I would use them for. Yet, when I received them they did not look up to the task. The soles are pretty thin. the tread is not at all aggressive. They are light weight, and that is great, but I just think they are intended for easier trails than I am accustom to. I thought the price was great. The size, by the way, was perfect. The toe-box is large and that is good.

Will these boots be too hot for 80 degree days

Hey Clayton - This is more of a winter boot with the Omni-Heat Thermal Reflective Lining and would be too hot for 80 degree days. Check out the Columbia Redmond Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots (Item #COL00FZ) or Peakfreak Xcrsn Mid Leather Outdry Boots (Item #COL01AA) as better options. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions. - Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead
