Hiking boots don't have to break our budget, thanks to the Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II Hiking Boot. Its leather, suede, and synthetic mesh uppers are coated with polyurethane for weather resistance and backed up by a waterproof bootie, making the boot mud-resistant and puddle-proof. comfortable & economical, not very durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The boots are exceptionally comfortable, and that is why I have bought 4 pairs, and keep coming back. They are light and waterproof at first up to the tongue. I hike and work in my boots all day, usually off-trail in the backcountry doing conservation work. The biggest negative for me is the loss of waterproofness after the first month or so. They are also not very durable. The lug pattern grips very well but wears out after several months, and you slide around. The stitching holds up, but the sole delaminates and wears out. I gave it 4 stars because they are comfortable and light, but I put them through a lot and they are probably geared more towards the average trail user.....I'll be willing to buy boots more frequently if it means I get more comfortable shoes on my feet.

Comfy but bottom part not a good quality.

Very nice.
Columbia shoes from Viet Nam are exceptuonal in appearance, fit, feel and construction. Warm, sturdy and stylish, i like them very much. Have 8 pairs of Newton Ridge and Gunnison. Very pleased.

Great Hiking Shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these shoes for a hiking trip to a national park. I could not recommend them enough, they are very comfortable to walk around in and have amazing shoe grip for climbing rocks. The only issues I had with the shoe were the breathability and waterproofing. Walking around in the shoes for a while leads to the shoe getting a little hot so I would recommend using these shoes in colder weather. For the waterproofing, the tongue of the shoe is not waterproof so stepping into deeper water leads to the shoe getting soaked. But if the shoe's tongue is above the water, the shoe is completely waterproof.

Great Boots, just don't breathe particularly well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super comfortable boot, light weight. Wore them hiking in Several California National parks. Good traction. Held well on steep rocks as well as sand. Waterproof all the way up. (Turns out if you step in water deeper than the boot your feet will still get wet!) Only knock at all is they don't breathe super well. I expect that from a waterproof boot, but these were a little 'warmer' than usual. I hiked in everything from snow to 75* desert.. the 70's were pushing it for warmth. I wouldn't wanna hike in these if the temp was in the upper 70's or 80's.... Overall a great boot so far though.

Firm, secure traction
