Why We Like The Columbia Mount Bindo II Insulated Jacket

Warm and waterproof, the Columbia Mount Bindo Insulated Jacket has all the tools we need to enjoy a full winter of skiing under changing conditions. Adding to our comfort levels, Columbia gave this jacket comfort cuffs with thumbholes, an adjustable powder skirt, and underarm zippered vents to help us stay warm in the cold, or cool down after working up a sweat.

New Fave Coat - Zipper Issue

I love this coat, it is everything I wanted in a coat. I got it on sale, too. Super awesome. One thing that's an issue is the zipper. Worked fine the first two times I wore the coat. Then one day, could not unzip to separate and remove coat. Not fun. The zipper is hard to zip up and down beacuse of the way it is sealed. Here's what you can do: get some oil lubrication for it. I have a needle nose lubricator pen that works great. Just do a small bead of oil down the entire front and back length of the zipper. Move the slider up and down several times to spread that out, and you'll be fine. I was bummed thinking I was going to need to return the coat. Let's hope not. I don't want to. I love the design. We'll see! So far so good after adding oil. I think it was just too much friction with the sealed zippers before. Good luck!

NYC Winter-Proof Jacket. 10/10 Recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great jacket and kept me warm and cozy during my trip to NYC. It is a little slimmer cut than I was expecting, but still looked great.

I'm sad about having to send it back

I didn't know how many stars to give it because it was a beautiful coat that I would have loved if it fit. I used the size guide and ordered a medium. I'm 5'6" 138 pounds and wear a size 6 or 8. The coat was snug when I put it on. I wouldn't be able to wear anything bulky underneath. I called hoping they had the same coat in a large and they were sold out.

No other jacket needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mount Bindo was the perfect jacket for my wife for our trip to Jackson Hole, WY. It kept the right temperature for different conditions we encountered between dogsledding and snowmobiling. The fit was great and the functionality was amazing.

Disappointed

Despite the many negative reviews I was still surprised by this coat. It wasn’t just a little small. I have a Columbia vest that is a medium and generous. This coat in a medium could not accommodate anything but the lightest layer underneath. The arms were ridiculously tight. The jacket fabric felt stiff and awkward. Maybe that’s what a ski jacket feels like but it was not comfortable for me. The zipper was difficult as has been reported but would have been manageable. I really wanted to like this jacket. But it was not meant to be

Warm when moving

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would love to give this 5 stars but the zipper is very temperamental and created a bit of fear that it would break. I used this jacket in the Trans-Himalaya and found the warmth great except for the arms. If I was not moving, my arms were cold. The insulation/material is thinner in the arms than the body of the coat so when standing still I was chilled. I had 3 layers on under the jacket and the diameter of the armholes was too small too allow me to add another layer.
