Not just any down jacket.
Street-ready and mountain-inspired, the Columbia Gold 650 TurboDown Women's Jacket will keep you warm on icy evenings downtown and cold days on the ski lift, with its unique 650 TurboDown insulation that combines 550-fill duck down and 100g polyester Microtemp. It keeps the light, fluffy feel of down, with the added benefit of keeping you warm if it gets wet, so its a safer bet to take out on the ski hill. The water-resistant 30D nylon ripstop shell is also lined with an Omni-Heat reflective coating to prevent heat loss, and Columbia designed the Gold with a drop-tail hem for extra coverage.

The inner part of this jacket is a silver aluminum looking lining and it was not pretty. I ended up returning this jacket. Plus, it was very loose. I'm 5'2" and 125 and even with a light sweater on, this jacket was too big on me.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great jacket for layering and being active. I love the omni-reflective coating. It definitely helps capturing your body heat while you're moving. This jacket works the best for me if I know I'll be active/moving around. If it's under 20 degrees and I know I'll be standing around, I opt for my warmer down jacket.
great fit, wrong color
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
I love the fit of this jacket, very flattering on my small frame (5'2" and 117lbs) I ordered a size small and would still be able to fit a big sweater under....BUT the inkling color is more grape and I was hoping for a dark blue as it appears on my screen. I also need a much warmer coat that's just as thin.
