I commute via bike in all weather, and I was looking for a pair of rain pants to have for rainy windy days. Since I would take them off when I reached my destination, I had no desire to spend the big bucks on anything fancy. I tried a few pairs of women's rain pants on sale, but since they were normal length (and I am rather short) they would bunch up around the ankles - very dangerous/inconvenient for biking. I consulted the size chart and my proportions match up well with the large boy's size, and I am here to report that they fit quite well! These pants are 100% lacking in the bells and whistles, but you probably knew that already. The ankle opening is just wide enough that I thought I could get them over my rain boots only to get stuck halfway (no ankle zippers) but again you COULD be paying much more for these features, so you should come to terms with whether that kind of thing is a dealbreaker. The ankle velcro is helpful for cinching the bottoms around your boots, and unlike on some pants I've tried the strip of velcro is actually long enough to make a significant difference in the circumference of the opening. I've only had the chance to ride in drizzly weather, so I'll update on how they handle in a torrent if I find myself unlucky enough to be biking through one.

What size is XL for Kids? Are these pants used for skiing too or isn't there enough room for the boot?
